Less polish - more spit ; raw spit that is.
(No innuendo, no.)
The only thing that has improved in 20 years of TV and film - high definition. Just, high def.

@queenofcardio Thank you for being my number 1 fan lol 😆😂 often replying. Much obliged. Im off to bed but thanks :) just wanted to give a thanks 👍🏻 I see you, i appreciate you
I get what you mean 😅 A lot of mainstream stuff is insanely polished now: Marvel sheen, Netflix color grading, perfect lighting, auto-tuned sound. It can feel sterile, like it’s been run through a corporate filter.
But raw realism isn’t gone, it’s just not front and center. Think A24 films, micro‑budget indie movies, some Korean and Japanese cinema, festival darlings at Cannes, or even gritty series like “Euphoria,” “Atlanta,” “Top Boy,” or older “Breaking Bad.” 🎬
The problem is algorithms and studios push “safe shiny” content, so the messy, imperfect, risky work often gets buried. If you dig into indie platforms, film festivals, student films, underground web series, you still find that beautiful, flawed, gritty energy. It just doesn’t live on the big billboards anymore. 💿✨
