Does Beauty and the Beast give unrealistic and harmful dating lessons?

I know books and movies aren't real but I believe they can teach lessons, good and bad. Given the lessons of Beauty and the Beast, I try to be a good person but women, whether I think them attractive or not avoid me like I'm some kind of threat. Like if I was some Brad Pitt I'd actually manage to talk to them or be approachable.

The whole premise of the movie is indeed wrong. The whole thing is punishment for not letting some creepy old lady in and it’s bad to try to make kids think you should open the door for strangers and invite them into your house lol
