RANT: There is no pleasing you I see.



You ever know someone, be related to someone, who not matter what you do/say are never happy?


You can do what they ask of you, watch what you say around them, etc, and still its not good enough for them?


I know a person like this, this person is a part of my family, and no matter what I do, I never make them happy. And its always my fault. And I can do what they ask and miss one little thing, forget one little thing and all of the sudden its blown out of proportion.


My achievements have never been a highlight of this persons conversations with me. It’ll always been my downfalls.


For instance, math has never been my strong suit. Once upon a time I aced a math test. Like 100% aced a test, in a class that I have already failed once. When I expressed my joy for passing this test said person wasn’t enthusiastic, instead they prefered to express “well now you need to pass the class”.


While yes that is a true statement. a “good job” would have been nice.


OR for a separate instance, I clean the house, I do almost everything said person wanted me to do. I forgot ONE thing, one little thing, and instead of “oh thanks for cleaning” I get “YOU LEFT THIS HERE WHY IS THIS HERE YOU NEVER DO WHAT I ASK YOU TO DO YOU ARE SO LAZY” or something to that effect, the tone if you can interpret is not exaggerated, the exact words are forgotten, but definitely the “you never do what i ask you, your so lazy” was there.


That’s a word I hear a lot. Lazy. Mostly true. But when I actually put effort it would be nice to have that effort recognized. Recognition unfortunately is not this persons strong suit. This person always sees the worst in people. But never in the right people.


The worst is always seen and assumed of the people who do right by said person meanwhile the people who do wrong by them are place upon a pedestal.


I just wish I could figure out how to rid myself of this person without destroying my family, as they are family. Or how to please this person once and for all.


I’m tired of living a life of I’m damned if I do and I’m damned if I don’t
