The English language defines Bullying as the act of hurting someone-in many ways-or forcing a person to do something against their will.
This word was not known decades ago and the brief meaning for such action is nothing compared to the harsh reality we face. Since Columbine, our awareness of the cruelty of children and adolescents in school is the subject of many discussions. Older people still think it's common, after all they survived. Teachers avoid taking sides when they should. Psychologists have their offices full of traumatized students while their parents try to understand the future scars that will likely haunt their children for life.
We can only question:
1. What possible consequences does bullying cause in someone and what kind of impact this abuse has on adulthood?
The issue is valid if we remember that this violence is usually experienced during the stage of personality development. It greatly affects the phase of self-knowledge and character formation.
2. The internet has brought the new trend: cyberbullying or web bullying.
This new aspect of abusive behavior begins to appear in social networking users. The lack of tolerance and aggressive responses can be found even right here on the site.
3. Can mental illness and nervous breakdown be caused by this kind of stress?
It has been proven that depression, anxiety and lack of self-esteem can be the result of psychological violence. Many teenagers resort to suicide due to lack of proper assistance.
4. The need to end any kind of abuse-verbal, emotional, physical and psychological-should be a priority in society.
An offensive word can destroy someone's future but kind words can save the lives of many. What about you, huh?
