Some are real, and some aren't.
Same as friends in real life, when you think about it.
As real as you make them. I have friends that I've met on the internet years ago that I'm close with. I have a friend that I met on the internet, developed a connection with and then 2 years later I got on a plane and went to see them.
I don't think internet friendships are honestly that deep. Unless they translate to IRL friendships. A lot of the times they are just superficial and you talk to someone because you're bored.
OH MY GOD, I JUST POSTED A QUESTION LIKE THIS!!! Link: Can you make real friends on Social Medias? ↗
They can be real. I have met some flakey people, and I have met some great friends via MMORPGs and support groups. I think of it as modern day pen pals.
I believe it is. You are real , your feelings are as long as you feel and show it. No matter it is on internet. It is just matter of perception i believe.
Thanks, for writing this. I agree with you. I've been there. Sometimes they can impact our lives more than our real-life friends do.
Why not? It's like a modern day pen pal thing. People still accepted pen pals as a friend back in the day.
Yes and it also depends on who you connect with. A honest person or a person who loves to fabricate stories.
I have plenty people that are fun to talk to, but I've only had a few that I got close tp and consider actual friends. So eh?
With internet you cannot be too sure. When you communicate with someone who understand you online, the connection is real.
I agree that they most definitely can be real as online daters can develop a deep emotional connection with someone else online.
That sounds like a wonderful connection. I wish the best to you! (sounds as real as it gets, by the way—good luck!)
If you do not have real face time with people, you do not have a connection that will stand up to life.
It's as real as it can be... when you can switch on and off whenever you want... and not really be held accountable to anyone.
Absolutely- I've had some very personal discussion with mine, and met a few of them. They're also friends, albeit obviously not my closest ones.
I also have an internet friend, we've been friends for 2-3 years now. And we can relate to each other and help out each other in our problems. And even have a lot of similarities. So, there are still good people out there.
Real deal.
I even Had once Married a Muslim Man from Egypt on FB. xx
Welcome to Gag Town and Best of Luck. xx
I've made some fantastic friends online. No Regrets. A grew bad eggs, but I didn't let those spoil the bunch.
As some pointed out, though, it's only good if people are 100 percent honest.
Yes they're real. I have internet friends and they know more about me than my family and irl friends. They're a great support sometimes.
