Why some people shouldn’t be parents

I’ve seen it, you’ve seen it , we’ve all experienced it.

The child at the store screaming his lungs out because he can’t have a toy or the little girl throwing herself on the floor because she was given five crayons instead of exactly four.

Why do they carry on that way? They have been taught that if their behavior becomes ugly enough people will give them anything they want to shut them up.

What is so bad about a little discipline?

I’m not talking about beating your child into next year. I’m talking about losing the “ I’m going to count to ten” speech and rolling through with your promised consequences to their actions.

Children love and need structure. And you losing your mind and yelling while they are acting out isn’t working.

They know nothing happens when you get to ten, they know that you’ll keep threatening to give them timeout but it will never happen and they also know that eventually you’ll give in to all their whining and screaming and they’ll get whatever they want.

It starts from a young age. Too many times I hear people say “oh he’s only 2 he doesn’t understand” let me tell you something. He knows alright. He fully understands and will conform as long as you put yourself in charge.

Please, I implore you, do not neglect the training of your children. If you cannot be the parent do not have children!

Actually, as annoying as it to experience, it might be a smart move to totally ignore a child throwing such a fit. They‘ll realize sooner or later they won’t get anything out of their parents or grandparents with that.
I have seen it in a supermarket once and it was glorious. 😆😵

Thats the correct way, whereas hitting or punishing the child doesn't work.

People who hit their kids shouldn't breed.

Talk to your kid, tell them why something is wrong, and if they act up, ignore it rather then cave.

Well for one the people who have kids are usually the irresponsible people,, like people who just hookup frequently, the people who don't use birth control or condoms.
They weren't trying to have a kid they were just to stupid, lazy or erisponsable to prevent it from happening.
It's like people who call pets fur babies or think of pets as kids, and they couldn't be any further from different things, a dog or cat needs nowhere near as much attention or training as a kid does.

It's always someone who dosent have money set aside, dosent have time to be with there kids, and dosent have a backup plan so they end up just leaving them with grandma a lot.

People should be required to have a fair amount of money in savings before they can have a kid and obviously a stable mom and dad or mom and mom, dad and dad, whatever 2 parents that will be there under one roof for the kids whole life before they have kids.

But that won't happen, everyone is stupid and selfish living in the moment and not living in the future. Women think kids are fun and just want their own bundle of joy and don't care how they get it, and stupid guys just want to hit it raw cause it feels better and will run of when inevitable their pull out game dosent work.

Not to mention the people who put way to much weight on kids, there are both men and women who think a baby will hold a failing relationship together and that never works.

And geuss what, kids from these broken homes usually grow up thinking that's a normal family dynamic and start their own fucked up family in the same way repeating the cycle.

I don't have enough in savings to live unemployed unassisted for a year, I wouldn't consider my housing situation exactly stable, car is kind of shit, work a lot of hours for only like $15 an hour, and I don't think either me or my girlfriend could afford to pay for me, her and a child, or God forbid twins, if we could money would be tight with no extra for random fun stuff, so we use birthcontrol and condoms and the one time there was a slight slip up she got the morning after pill just incase.

Only stupid people have kids with the "we'll make it work" mentality, some people shouldn't have kids.

Not to mention some of these parents don't even know how to take care of themselves, like if your way overweight cause you don't understand nutrition or how to eat healthy food in healthy amounts maybe don't have a kid you'll ruin.
If you cNt drink or smoke responsibly don't have a kid.

Discipline is needed, but depending on the situation, it's either best to ignore them or give them attention. Children will stop when they realize their efforts are fruitless or unaccepted. My parents though, conditioned us to be scared whenever we did anything bad. We knew being bad = getting hit with any object near them. If there wasn't an item, it'd be their hands. I would never recommend this, it's so unpleasant and teaches children to live in fear.

I don't have a child but I babysit often. When the kid throws a tantrum, I usually ask them what's wrong and sit there with them at eye-level and let them explain while watching them. They'll usually calm down and cry.

But, if they're bashing everything around them, I would have to go into the warfare and move them to an area where they can't hurt themselves and others. I would hold their hands or hug them to 'bind them' as they struggle. I don't want them becoming a walking calamity again. I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do, but the kid eventually calms down. Once he calms down, I ask him what's wrong and he would tell me he's sorry.

The way adults treat them affect the way they grow up. They learn and adapt to their environment.

This may not be the same for your example, but the toddler I babysit also threw a fit for getting 5 crayons instead of 4 crayons. His parents said he has OCD and needs everything to be the way it's 'supposed' to be.

We're trying to help with his OCD by desensitizing him whenever he breaks a part of the routine. He's young and requires the attention. It sounds like torture, but OCD will affect the way he will live his life in the future so it's best to attend to it now.

Discipline rules, I'm not saying I will beat my kid, I'll just let my wife to 🤣 because I know she can't hurt him/her

My mum used to slap me sometimes on the cheekor bum (only when I royaly deserved it) and there's nothing wrong with me, if anything I love her more then I ever would if she just let me have anything (she couldn't have done that even if she wanted to, as we weren't exactly rich), so she thought me to save money, appreciate what I have and work hard for it (or smart if possible ahah)
I am all for diplomacy, trust, and respect as first solution, talk to your kid make him understand, but what if that doesn't work? Not every kid is the same, exactly same parenting can and will produce different results (100 subjects, you will get minimum of 70 different results)
Sometimes a small slap on the wrist can go a long way (if there is need to beat the shit out of the kid, that means beating is not what works for that kid in the first place, look elsewhere for solutions) as someone said maybe ignoring him may work, etc.

Ok. I used to think like this too, I was just the same as a kid. For some kids that works, for others nothing works. They have different personalities and react differently to certain situations. I have three, all treated exactly the same, they’re not spoiled. The oldest and youngest are very good when told “no”, the middle one will throw huge tantrums every now and again, no matter what we do. We still don’t give in, it still happens.
