People say that race doesn't matter, but it does. Everyone has preferences. People say that it doesn't matter as long as you love them, but let's be honest, people fall in love in then they fall out sometimes.

Most men say that they wouldn't because the kid would get unfair treatment, because he/she will most likely be considered black. And the kid will most likely have black facial features and will not look like them.

Women say basically say the same thing.

I have a biracial niece and nephew.(My brother's kids. My nephew looks completely white. He has blonde hair, bright blue eyes, very pale skin, but looks identical to my brother. He has his facial features. His mom is half Puerto Rican. His daughter has dark skin, hair.. like most mixed kids.

Would you have a mixed kid?

Also, it's all about the parents. If you put two people together who have the self hate thing going on then the kid will have issues. If two people fall in love and were good people before the child then they will probably be good parents to the child. The only thing you really have to worry about when having a mixed child is not letting them hate either race as they are both. As someone with white and black and other stuff I know deep down it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to not be attracted to white or black because that is what I am. Watch out for the child who supposedly doesn't like black people or white people. That can be a problem for them as an adult. I have seen many mixed girls date the most unattractive, grimy and rude black dudes to prove how black they are and on the flip side I have seen them act as if black people were the devil and do anything possible not to be associated with anything "black". Boys are easier IF they have at least one strong parent. For me it was easy, my mom was a single black mom who worked 40-50+ hours a week who was raised in the hood and in the church so I got my ass whopped on or I got love. A strong parent is the key.

For some people, what other people think really doesn't matter with regards to love. Yes it's a factor, with what your friends and family think, but that's only an issue if racism is part of it.
If you're white, you're going to take crap from black people. If you're black, you're going to take crap from white people. He'll you take crap from people your own skin color. It doesn't matter what you do. Better to live life the way you wish to and disregard all the "what ifs"

Both my children are mixed I'm white and there father is black and my children are beautiful my daughter actually did a commercial a few years back and my son is very good looking not just saying that cause I'm there mother I'm saying it cause its true. they don't have a hard life look at the world today the white race is diminishing everyone is mixed. Well i'm multiracial though I just look black ignorant people assume skin tone is the biggest factor in knowing if a person is mixed. I hate when a light skinned black person says i'm not mixed I am black lol somewhere down the line you are mixed especially if you live in the south. With that being said, of course I won't mind because I'm not of a pure race most people are not and it would not make sense to me to want to be in a relationship with a guy of a different racial background but not be ok with having a mixed child with him. I would love the child no matter what he or she looks like and make sure that they grow up loving themselves and where they come from or what they look more like.

Considering I'm not attracted to my own race, any kid I were to have would undoubtedly be biracial.
In the state I live in, there's interracial couples every where you go and most of my friends are biracial. It's the norm. No weird looks or anything like that.

And by the way, one of my biracial friends has the EXACT same facial features as his mother (who is white). But he has brown skin and an afro. His skin color and hair texture doesn't change the fact that he looks just like her, though.

I actually think that mixed kids are beautiful. Here are some examples of mixed children:

Those are just examples. But I like biracial children and wouldn't mine having my own. I don't understand how biracial children would be treated differently. A lot of biracial children (not all) have a hispanic skin complexion, but features of their mothers and fathers race. I think it looks good.

I will find a girl that I like, marry her have kids and love them even more so. I know for a fact that my future wife will be of a different race/culture because that's what I am into. I could careless what my parents, culture, tradition or society thinks of what or who my personal love interest is. They can go fuck themselves. I'm a full blooded Pacific Islander and have been told since I was a child not to mix blood with other. I don't care about that bullshit. My child will loved, cherished and brought up in a good home unlike me. Whether my kids life is hard or not doesn't matter. I have a mixed baby. Thus far, no unfair treatment. I have had quite a few strangers ask me if she's mine, as she looks just like her dad. But, other than that, people always stop me to tell me how beautiful she is; literally several times a day.

I'm secure in who I am, I'm proud of my race. Her father is proud of his race. My house will one day be a little melting pot of culture and happiness and I can't wait.

Yes? I don't think mixed kids have a hard life. It's 2014 not 1900, no one thinks mixing races is sinful anymore lol.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm white so yeah if I had a kid with someone black, Asian, or Hispanic, then they wouldn't look very much like me because darker features are dominant. But you run that risk with everyone. Having a kid that looks like me isn't the whole goal of procreating.

And I'm not planning on having a kid out of wedlock, so I'd be married to the non-white person and I'd love them, and I'd be happy to have their kids.

I don't care whether or not my baby is biracial. My top priority is being with a woman I love. If we decide to have children then that's an afterthought in the relationship.

Once we have children then I don't care what race or races my child is all that matters is providing them the best opportunity for life that I can manage.

The only reason why I wouldn't want my child to be mixed would be because I would want my child to look like me. If they are mixed then they won't look like me. With that said, I have no problem dating or even getting married to a girl that is of a different race than me... and if we have kids then the kid is going to be mixed since that is just how things work... So, my answer would be... I don't prefer if my child is bi-racial... but if I'm with a chick that is of a different race than I am then I know that the child will be mix. It won't make me love my child any less... but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a preference when it comes to having a child of the same race as I am over a child that is mixed.. and the only reason is my own selfish wants of wanting to increase the chance that the child actually looks like me.

I've not really thought about this at length but, no it wouldn't bother me. Dating a guy of another race would not bother me and if that got serious enough to have kids, of course they would be his. I don't see the issue.

A brazilian friend says they have a similar racial concern there. If you're half black half white, you're not half black, you're half white.

Race only matters to people who want it to matter. It doesn't matter to me, but it appears to matter to you. Or at least matter to people who matter to you.

When you say that most men wouldn't want a biracial kid, you may be showing bias. Either that, or I am even more awesome than my fiancee thinks that I am, and I need to get moving on a plan to rule the world as a benevolent dictator.

First dictate: lower taxes for people who protect other people from violence and bigotry. Can't tax people for choosing to hate due to free speech and all that, but you sure as hell can give tax breaks to heroes, which is effectively a tax on all non-heroes. Call it a Hate Tax.

Well in spite of the fact I already don't look like my ethnic group, my kids will defiantly look unique compared to most out there. I like that. Pure race as a must is a thing of the past. Your kids are the cause of the beautiful love you have with your partner. I personally I'm not attracted to profound black features (wide nose, big lips) it's still really cute to see a combination of different races lol it's almost like magic!!! It honestly wouldn't matter bc in my family we all look different. I wonder what this whole complexion/colorism thing is about? Just bc a child has a parent/parents with a certain shade and grade of hair doesn't mean that they'll be born with the same features, I think that's stupid and ignorant to think. I'm not half of anyone else but my mom is lighter than me and I have wavy hair and my eyes were grey, they're still a bit grey in sunlight. My niece is not biracial either but she was born blonde, my cousin is brown skinned and was a red head till about four. A few of my cousins have colored eyes and blonde or red hair that look very close to white. And I have family with very deep complexions. This can happen in any family biracial or not.

Nothing wrong with biracial. I see them. as the most beautiful looking being. mixed race. Also people. dont choose who they fall for so I reckon many people would be fine with it. The women do, the men don't. A lot of white women uses this as their pass into the black community. It's become an "It" thing now. When a lot of the biracial kids I've seen end up growing up almost hating their white side anyway. Considering they are still considered black and treated as such by society. Whereas white women are still white and will therefore always be treated (if no ones knows of her biracial children of course) better than that child.
