Why does my ex feel the need to explain himself?

So my ex broke up with me. Before we broke up we spent a lot of time together (the split was because he felt I took up a lot of his time). Since then I've been doing my own thing and he has been doing his, but from some reason he needs to explain stuff to me.

For example, I'll IM him something at 3pm and he'll answer it at 8pm with a reason why he couldn't reply. Also, he always tells me goodnight (sometimes twice. and might even text my phone with it) or if I'm playing games online he'll want to join. He has also been a lot angrier than usual (not at me, just in general).

I've already explained to him that I'll move on since he doesn't want a relationship..but he kind of acts he owes me something.

I thin he feels bad for breaking up with you and is trying to make it up with you. Do you still care for him and have feelings for him? If not then it will be eaiser for you to move on. It seems like to me that he is having a hard time moving on from you. and he might be angrier in general because he realized he made a mistake and f...d up. The thing is do you want to be friends with him or cut him off completley. I think he is being unfair because he broked up with you but he still is trying to keep tabs on you.

I still have very strong feelings for him but he said his heart was not in it when we broke up (1 weeks ago). Yesterday I told him I was going to actually make a facebook and my friend offered to take pro-photos of me. He asked why I was getting a facebook and I told him because my girlfriends say it's a new change for a break-up. He said "it isn't that serious..it's just facebook" in a scoffed tone.

I don't know what he is thinking.

He told you his heart was not in it. It's like if he is going to say somethig lame like that then why does he care what you do and if you are making a facebook. He seems like he has some issues with a lot of things. I think the facebook thing is a good thing for you to do. What's he going to do next add you as a friend and stalk your page and friendlist. I think he is going to regret his decision about the breakup and when you start talking to other guys. He is not going to be able to stand it.
