My friends rarely/never ask me to hang out... does it mean they don't like me?

Question

People say im friendly & got a good sense of humour... Yet my friends never ask me to go out to places with them, They go out without me :/ I ask someone else about it and they said: "maybe they're jealous of you or they think you wouldn't be interested, cos i see nothing wrong with you, you're a nice person Keziah" I dunno what to do! Its so frustrating!! Im friendly towards everyone i meet, unless they're a downright asshole or bully. Have you experienced this before? What's your opinion? :)

If I were you I would let the friendships die with whoever it feels one-sided with and keep socializing with people who treat you well and reciprocate interest.

Also they don't sound like real friends if they are asking questions like "why are you talking to her?" and "so I hear that your friends with Keziah? How come?" A true friend wouldn't question that. It sounds like they are fishing for drama and friendships with other people bother them. What do they care? It's very possible this stems from jealousy or some Of course you are allowed to be friends with whoever you want. If you're still in high-school unfortunately there is going to be a lot of BS like this and you will have to rise above it.

I feel for you. I haven't had much luck with hanging out with people lately either. The ones who are the most interested are the same ones who want sex which I'm just not into right now.

When I was in high school I had similar problems. Some of that was because most of my friends didn't get along with each other. More of it was because everyone was weirdly protective of me though, and didn't want me to be around some of the things that they do with their friends at parties, such as drinking and violence.

Yeah I've experience problems with certain groups
of people accepting me , like for example my Late moms
brother was all for his wife's side of the family and not for
his sisters side of the family, like there was many Christmas
eve parties we weren't invited and if we went none of us felt
in place to be there cause no one would talk to us yes it hurts
to be singled out by people.

When I was in school, I floated between a lot of crowds and never got invited to much outside of entire class events. When I asked about it a few years later, I found out it was because since I was in all groups, I didn't really belong in one! I had tons of friends, but no best friends. People liked talking to me, but it always just happened when we ran into each other, neither of us ever reached out to each other outside of school.

They always told me that if I wouldve asked or if I wouldve texted anyone at any point, I wouldve been invited to more things. They always thought I would be busy because I talked to so many other people!!

Mhmm... mostly with former female friends when I was younger. They usually assumed I wouldn't be into what they were doing or where they were going, so they didn't invite me with them. Which I guess was... nice of them? (Usually they were right, I wasn't into some of the same things they were, lol)
But at the same time, it annoyed me to be left out or them doing things without me considering I was their "friend."

Eventually I outgrew most of them anyway since we didn't really have much in common or they proved they weren't really my friends so... yeah.
You might want to assess if those people really your friends, or just using you and just claiming to be your friends.

It's like everyone else is saying, they aren't really friends and are most likely jealous of you - whatever their reasons for being jealous are irrelevant.

I've had so much of that myself that you soon begin to realise that it's probably your own qualities that outshine those around you. Just be who you are and I'm sure you'll stumble across people that are more like minded.

Why on earth are people not wanting to be friends or ask why people are friends with you? I would be your friend no matter what. A few exceptions aside being that if you abused children or the elderly. Every thing else is not a problem for me. If you can accept me for what I like and who I am. I love to wear heels and paint my toenails I have also found that I love to wear yoga shorts and pants around the house. Most people think that I am gay and they dislike me because of what I like to wear. If anyone can accept me then I will be happy to be their friend. If not then I will leave them as they were.

First this happened to me also people didn't invite me, but you know i stopped that from annoying me, if they don't want me then im better without their company.
Second you seem like you are too friendly with your friends that it makes them jealous and a piece of advice: don't put too much thoughts in people don't deserve it.

How often do you ask them to hang out? Maybe they're also wondering the same thing about you... Initiate to hang out with them. Also maybe they think you don't share the same interests as them and they don't want you to feel bored when they're doing their thing...

A relationship goes both ways, romantic or otherwise. I'll ask that you forgive me for being preseumptuous, but do you ever ask them to hang out, or do you wait to be invited? If you express interest in them by offering first, they will be more willing to do the same for you.

They are either busy or not real friends. I am in a similar situation. One is always busy, i know this because if i ask her out she makes an effort. Even if she doesn't feel well, she still agrees. The one that is not interested will always have an excuse.

I've always had this too. Maybe bring it up or start organising hang outs your self and if they still aren't interested it's probably time to find new friends. You seem nice and your still at that age were it's not too difficult to make friends maybe start talking to new people at college, gym, work were ever you go.

Try organising things yourself, if they are your friends they should go.

But don't spend whole money
Friendship is all about sharing
Every month we plan for a place like hill stations, beach, etc.
We share everything equally.
That's the reason we still have no problem.

I have this same problem too. It hurts me. It really does. But I have to remember we are busy. Then again, many others seem to be but still text each other on a regular basis.

You're a cute girl. Maybe they are feeling jealous because they aren't as cute as you are. People with low sense of self-esteem will tend to associate with the "the lowest" so they can feel more superior in comparison. These people aren't really your friends. Volunteer at the local Food Pantry or Soup Kitchen, hospitals usually use volunteers as greeters, etc. Hopefully you can meet some like-minded people who can be a REAL friend to you and you can be a friend to them.

I barely speak to my irl either.. My best friend is always working and my other friends is always busy with a boyfriend or her other friends. One of her reasons to not hang out/post things that she is hanging out with me is because of an old mutual friend who will get angry at her... And I don't know what to do either, I try to hang out with them but my best friend is always working and barely free. And the other friends I don’t feel so close with her anymore
