It sparked a debate here in Aus 😂😂
I dont find it offensive in any way!
Its father daughter love
Just like mother son love 😤
Hate on me all you want. But just promise you'll hear me out. I don't care how close they are, I don't think that any adult should be kissing any kid on the lips. Sure it may be common in some cultures, but kissing is often a prequel to sex. And since it's related so closely to intimacy, I don't think it should be the normal thing done between family members.
My stepdad used to kiss me and my sisters on the lips when we were younger. I didn't think much of it at the time. It could have been nothing sexual. But then again it could have. I don't know. But not too long after, my mother caught him texting some underage girl on the phone and was weirded out by how the conversations were going. So I'm not saying he's a pedophile, but if someone didn't know they were sexually attracted to children, it could be used as a gateway drug to possibly do more sexual things.
Some could argue that I'm being pessimistic and only seeing the bad in people. But I think they're missing the point. I'm sure there are a lot of good people out in the world that sincerely love their kids and aren't sexually attracted to them. But then what about the ones that are? Kissing their kid is already normalized! What makes you think that something else might not be easily normalized within the home? We need to think about the worst because the possibility of that action happening is logical/possible. And if it's possible then it's (seemingly) low probability shouldn't trump an overall good that could come of the change. We should act as if the probability of it happening is very high. I feel that could do the most good.
In my eyes, you could easily swap that kiss out with something else that lightly sexual and call it "a platonic gesture of love." And I'm sure many people have. I wouldn't be so against this if I knew there wasn't a way that people could abuse it. Stuff like this needs to be stigmatized so that we can avoid future hurt. Sure we won't be able to stop already existing predators but we may be able to slow their fucking role!
Oh yeah and there's the whole herpes simplex type 1 that is transmitted through oral secretions or sores on the skin, can be spread through kissing or sharing objects such as toothbrushes or eating utensils, etc.
So I say, find a way of kissing your child that isn't something people with intimate relationships do when they're horny.
To anyone who has disliked this opinion, feel free to have a discussion with me on what you disagree with. 👌
And I don't think it's not normal. I think it very well could be normal. I think it just shouldn't be normalized.
@oldoldold - I never said I think it's "only sexual." I wouldn't mind parents kissing heir children if it's in a place that isn't normally sexualized. Or maybe in a place that isn't so high on the sexualizing spectrum. Like a kiss on the cheek! Or top of head!
When we find someone sexually attractive, what do we want to do? Chances are, we'd want to kiss them on the lips to express our sexual desire for them! So my point wasn't that kissing is "only sexual." My point was that the intent of someone's kiss can easily become sexual.
We can't fear everything. It's important to show love to our kids. You could just as easily call hugging something that leads to sexual thoughts. So should we not hug and hold our kids too?
I understand you're sensitive about the subject because of your stepdad. But if we all thought like this the world wouldn't know how to love. And without love this world would be more scary than a few pedophiles. No thank you. We already have enough people messed up because they lacked love growing up.
Just saying you love someone isn't enough for someone to feel it.
A few years ago in Australia, a father was in a shopping centre with his son who was still in nappies/diapers. He had to change his and so he took him to the unisex/parent room where the changing table was... Some lady shat on him on how inappropriate it was for a grown man to go alone in a room with a little child.
He was his fk'n father changing his shitty ass like any decent parent would do, but there were so many people acting like he was a paedophile because he wasn't supervised with his own kid.
Ah, here it is:

This sexist mentality against men / fathers is bullshit. People complain when fathers don't get involved in caring for their children, yet when they do, they're attacked and called perverts, sickos and paedophiles.
I still kiss my son goodnight when I take him to bed... Better fk'n call the cops, take me away and leave my wife to do everything on her own I guess.
Wtf is wrong with people. You know what it is? It's there own sick mind making an innocent moment dirty.
I have a photo of my 6 yr old and I when we smoothed. And I put it on fb. Why? Because it was adorable and a loving mother daughter moment I can always look back on. And guess what? Not one person commented anything but how cute it was. Probably because i don't associate with sick minded people.
Some people just have sick minds and can take any innocent situation and turn into a sick one.
That's their problem. Unfortunately it causes unnecessary nastiness in this world.
It doesn't take a genius to realize a person who truly has incest in their mind hides it. They don't show it to the world.
I take offense to the sick idiots that try to ruin anything beautiful.
Yes it's very normal. You guys are hypersexualised these days. Very sad.
I recall this type of thing happened to David Beckham awhile back with his daughter.
It is not a crime to show affection in a non sexual context which I believe in this photo, is the case.
Why showcase something if you have bad motives?
Also why are women trying to castrate men so much these days. We value and love men in our lives. Seems like small groups of liberals are barking way too loudly and making a problem for the rest of us.

The social human community has watched so much incest porn and read incest stories and erotica that they have forgotten that..
There are other kinds of affections too..
Dumb ass fucking piece of shit people need to get their mind straight..
And pay more attention to their life instead of poking around others for no reason..
It's not their responsibility..
There is Law.. And if something wrong happens just report to cops and let them handle the case..
I rest my Case,
This opinion is not open to argument..
Anyone who argues... Has a good chance of getting blocked..
This is most definitely a "Give Me Strength" moment - I am not sure which side took offence to it but it is something that probably happens hundreds of thousands times a day around the world, a significant male relation kissing a female child nothing to see here until someone kicks up a fuss about it - It's like breastfeeding in public, you walk around see a few mothers doing it then all of a sudden there is a public hullabulloo and outraged people are typing furiously on forums.
Half the world's population is underfed, people are dying from curable things due to not enough medical treatment available, people don't have clean water - Kick up a fuss about that.
Can people just mind their fucking business?
Soon you won't even be able to be called a dad, or even show a single bit of affection.
I'm pretty sure if it was her mom who did it, everyone would call it cute.
People can go fuck themselves with a cactus, stop acting like parents should just be like robot breeding and feeding other robots. Parents love their children, and have many ways of showing it.
As long as its a peck there's nothing controversal, she's daddys little girl its not sexually intimate. People think its weird because they werent raised that way. Basically culturally different so its normal for people to be uncomfortable. But there's nothing wrong with it tbh
It’s just weird to me but I do understand that it can be a cultural thing. It’s not that big here in the Midwest but I know some countries in Europe hat do that.
For me, lip kisses are for significant others. Not children. I’ve never kissed anyone on the lips who I didn’t want to have sex with. I’ve never used it as a friendly gesture and no one in my family has.
It’s just a cultural thing. And then you have those other parents who have inappropriate relationships with their kids. It should only be offensive if the child is clearly in distress or there’s evidence of abuse.
Jesus.
"Father shows child affection"
Why is this a problem?
Because the media sees bad in men, even when they are not 🤷🏻♂️. Especially in Australia it's worst.
There's nothing wrong with showing your kids love and affection. Yes there are lines that can be crossed, but a simple hug or kiss is not indecent.
Mothers do it as well.
That's your child, love them.
Normal. No more a big deal than a mother kissing her son.
It's not like liv Tyler tongue kissing her Dad or Angelina jolie making out with her brother.
... white people (shakes head)
Lmao white people 😂 im weak. But i can't believe im just now realizing liz is steves daughter 😂
*liv
Why do people overreact about dads? When that is actually common when it comes to mother and son. F double standards.
Welp they have problems if they think that way. Maybe they sexualize if they do it.
read your bible and talk to God for your F double standards and before your manhood gets cancer
@MissDawn7961 Oh no! A religious fanatic trying to make a point! Pff. I've seen worse fallacies
@MissDawn7961 Just don't wanna elaborate do you? All you can say is "the bible says so" and be comfortable with your own ignorance.
The world is filled with many different kinds of people, all of whom express things such as affection in different ways. Just because it is not the norm for you, doesn't make it wrong.
However, looking at this logically from a psychological standpoint, the act of kissing on the lips is something that generally turns people on as it is almost always used in sexually intimate scenarios. Although, the kids have pure thoughts and think nothing of it when they're young, adults on the other hand fully understand what it can lead to or symbolize. Due to those stated points, I do not believe there should be kissing on the lips in a parent-child relationship, but that's just my opinion.
Normal. Australias going a bit stupid and I don't like it.
I find it totally normal tbh. I do not see a peck on the lips as sexual. Plus, its said that tongue kissing developed out of mouth-feeding between parents and their children. So in a way, its more weird to kiss your sexual partner in that way than your parent xD
It's fine, just showing love to his daughter. Everything has to be so PC these days. He wasn't doing anything inappropriate
Parents don't usually kiss their kids on the lips, but I don't see anything wrong with it. The only reason there is controversy is because it's the father and his daughter. If it was mother and her son then no one would care.
Lol people are insane sometimes, there is nothing sexual in it lol
The incest one is the best, she won't be able to wash her kid I guess
Everyone's favorite New England Patriot was recorded kissing his kid on the lips. I felt that kiss in particular went on too long, but people seemed fine with it, because it was Tom Brady and he was white and America's Good Guy. So boo to this Aussie man catching shit. My cousin kisses his kids on the lips. I wouldn't if I had kids because it creeps me out. It's personal preference
uh... that is too young abd to early! >< i uh just hope that is all he does! i uh.. think the reason why their upset about this is because... uh... their has been cases wherd parents would uh abuse their children... so uh... i guess they.. ob i dont know... uh nevermind.. uh.. I'll just say its weird and leave it at that! >]
I think it’s weird if your reading sex or sexual intention into this.
Completely normal is just a sign of affection. In other countries everyone kisses each other on the lips.
People are talking about how society oversexualizes children but them people can't take it when there's a normal, affectionate action between family members. How about we stop oversexualizing pecks on the lips wtf
