Should I knock on the door or wait outside?

I'm picking a girl up from her place and bringing her back to mine for a movie/dinner date.

I've never picked up a girl before from her place, we're both in college and she still lives with her parents, I don't.

Probably a very small detail to be stressing over, but that's just how I am lol. If I knock I might have to talk to her parents if they answer... and I hate doing that lol. I mean I could do it but I'd rather not to.

So is it alright to just call her when I get to her place and wait for her outside, or do I go knock on her door?

I just went to her door. Talked to her mom a bit she was friendly enough.. introduced to the dad and he didn't have much to say haha.. that was kinda cliche and expected. Wasn't so nerve wracking as I thought it would be, it went well :)

Knock on the door. If you sit and wait in your car, you could probably expect her dad to come out there and give you a talk about how a gentleman picks his date up at the door. Also, her parents might want to meet you which means sitting in your car is a bad way to do this. Basically, it doesn't look good on your part to make your date walk out to your car.

Be a man, go and pick her up from the door.

Dude, knock on the door. That's kinda weird to just sit in the car waiting for her. If the parents answer, so be it. You might get lucky and she will answer the door.

I think you should knock on the door and open the car door for her. Send her a text to let her know that you're outside, so that she'll answer the door. Maybe she doesn't want you to meet her parents just yet either.

call her, and then walk up and knock on the door. that way, you can walk her to the car, and by calling, hopefully you can avoid the parents
