Scenario:
You're either a cat or dog owner. You had to take him/her to the pet ER. They got saved from nearly dying due to intoxication. It was done on purpose.

Then you find out the ones responsible are these same 8-10 year-old kids (a boy and a girl) that live several blocks from you. It didn't happen to me but to my supervisor. He really wanted to slap the living hell out of them. Instead he ended up calling the cops and they got detained.

Even worse, those kids didn't show any remorse for what they did. The boy said nothing and the while was laughing.

You know that violence will never get you to peace because its the direct opposite

Plus, you would just take the trust of the kid to anyone

High chance for a psychological trauma which leads in 9 of 10 cases that they will too hit their kids, and they will probably also hit their kids and so on

At the girls its more complicated because laughing itself can be translated in multiple thoughts in the background... like the smiling of Asian people when they have done something bad, in asia a clear sign for shame...
But it almost never means that something is funny, especially at kids because they got also educated from their parents about behaviour, like always smiling in public

Yes it is a bad thing, but kids are young so that teaching them isn't that hard... so why not trying to teach them to understand what they did... pretty low chance for inner family violence later in life

I understand but those kids are horrible. They nearly poisoned to death my supervisor's dog and showed no remorse at all. The boy said nothing and the girl was laughing.

You think physically harming them will teach them it is wrong? No it teaches them that when someone does something they don't like it is okay to hit them. They are like that from the lack of proper parenting and physical abuse will just ad to that.
