How can I get my sister to treat me as her equal?

Because I'm the youngest in my family, they treat me like a kid and it sucks! My parents think I can't handle a week alone so I have to live with my sister. My sister does not treat me the same way she treats our brother or our cousins, she treats me like I'm a kid. I'm 14, I'm super mature for my age but nobody lets me prove it.

According to Scycologist the brain isn't fully developed until the age of 25 . The whole thing I am so mature for my age isn't accurate. You are still a kid and your brain isn't fully developed yet. I can see why your parents are worried and want to make sure you are taken care of while they're gone. I wish I had a mother that cared about me. At that time when I was 14 I went to the hospital my mother did not bother or care how I was feeling or doing. My aunt decide to step up and take care of all the medical documents because I was still a child at that time. Who was there when I had pain my aunt , Who was the one that pick up my pain medication at the pharmacy my aunt. Who drove me to doctor appointments my aunt of course as always. Because my mom could care less while I was in pain. Why did my aunt did all these? Because I was still a 14 year old child my aunt of course took care of everything why? Because I was still a child at that time. What if something happens and you are alone how are you going to manage these emergency situations? I'm sorry but a 14 year old is still a child. Please appricate your family and love ones.

You will have enough time to prove everyone wrong. I think it's safe to be with someone older than you in a house. At 14 you can't just stay alone... c'mon
I think the best way to prove it if you actually collaborate with them. Are they coooking? Ask them if they need help, or you can just prepare the table. Are they cleaning , ask them if they want you to do something... if non of these things happen, do it yourself. And see how they will react.

Listen we're all in our teen at some point and when I was 14 I thought I was ready to do my own things too in my teens I joined a pro wrestling school, joined the basketball team, stayed out late with friends, Started drinking and smoking weed. And I kept thinking of everything I wanted to do when I became an adult and lived on my own. And what I wish I would have done was enjoy my childhood and teens more and appreciate it more and try to accomplish more academically. You are a kid and when you're in your 20s abd 30s yoy will look back and realize that. Take advantage of what's provided for you now so you can do what you want later on.

Like instead of waiting for her to tell you to do your chores, do it before.

You are a kid, that you think there is such a thing as "super mature" is further evidence.

Every 14 year old says they're mature for their age. If they don't let you prove it, it means you're not as mature as you think. If you Are mature, they'll let you, they will automatically give you more freedom
