Why are people obsessed with making friends?

I know a girl who was very disappointed in a lot of girls she were friends with and stopped making friends after that and she looks quite good without anyone around her... i know she is an introvert... i just don't understand why some people think it us weird to not have friand to be alone at the Recess 😅

I think this is a tough one to answer.

Human beings are social creatures. Our ability to interact with each other was of paramount importance to the evolution of our species into what it is today.

There have been lots of studies done around what happens to humans and animals without social connection. One study (I can find the source if necessary) showed that having a tight social circle was a bigger indicator of life span than smoking status. That is, long time smokers with close social connections lived longer than non-smokers without social connections.

There's no escaping how important social connection is to human beings at large. It plays into our psychology, our hormones, hell... people who study this stuff believe we are simply hardwired to need each other. The same people believe that the overwhelming amount of depression and anxiety in modern life is due, at least in part, to the rise of the nuclear family and the separation from neighbors/tribes. Throw in the internet, social media, and online shopping, and the problem just gets worse because we aren't forced to interact with each other face to face.

That said, it's worth drawing a distinction between what is needed to survive and what is needed to flourish. Humans are highly adaptable and can will themselves to get by in all sorts of undesirable situations.

Also, there are exceptions to every rule. Maybe you are an exception. But if you have social anxiety, it would take some soul-searching to find out whether you're avoiding social connection because of the anxiety or because of an unusual lack of need for interaction. Unless you fall into this category, I'd say it's likely affecting your psyche in ways that you're not aware, and learning how to make friends would benefit you in ways that you may not be able to comprehend right now.
