Why people were happier and lived longer when they married in their teens during the stone, bronze and iron age? If teen pregnancy was a mistake wouldn't have people stopped doing it naturally in the medieval times?
The legal age has been upped to 18 to 21 for kids to be known as adults, when in reality a 12 year old knows what he should do to survive and what is right and wrong due to the ease of access of information so readily available at your fingertips. In this modern age I believe the legal age for kids to turn into adults should be 14-15, i. e as soon as they lose their virginity.
Marriage and raising good kids has become difficult Whereas prostitution being a bad and unmoral thing, has become easy.

Because in the good old days. For the most part. You didn't need much of an education to do okay in life. I won't say well, because there were hardly any opportunities to do well if you weren't born in the right class. You just learned skills. Often working along side your parents. Then continued on rutting through that life.
There weren't expectations of living your dream and thinking of your future career. You just ground away at your lot in life until you dropped dead. You had to start popping out as many kids as you could. Because most of them would die. A woman of 16 was less likely to die giving birth than a 30 year old woman.
As for who you married. You probably didn't spend much time getting to know them. If you both seemed good enough and your parents agreed that was that. If you even got married. As often it was just something where you lived together and the community considered you married. A lot of long time traditions we think of were started or got big in the Victorian era.
There wasn't the notions of a dream romance. You each had your roles you were supposed to fulfill. As long as you had that and started firing out kids. That was fine. If your husband beat you or insisted you fulfill your wifely obligations. That's what you got. No one saw it as their business to interfere. Same thing if your husband was a lout or a drunk. Although a wife running off to a convent or back to her family wasn't unheard of.
Basically for 99% of people. Life was hard and sucked. Very few people had freedom to really pursue their interests.
As for average marriage or child age. I could go on more. But that's also a misnomer. Just as in the modern era and industrial revolution. The average age to marry and have children varied a lot. It really swung around generation to generation, like today. Having children or getting married as a teen wasn't always common. There's also a lot of variation where it was common for men and women to be about the same age or for the men to be ten to fifteen years older than the woman.
Whatever happened to using birth control so we wouldn't have unwanted pregnancies? It's a very good investment.
I wouldn't call a teen pregnancy a mistake. That sounds so cruel to say.
Yes, times have really changed. And remember that each State have their own guidelines for what people can do and at what age they can do it. In Arkansas, you are old enough to get a driver's license. In California, you have to be 16.
Personally, I would not bring a baby/child into this world now or in the future. I love children, don't get me wrong, but will h so much violence and crime, inflation with everything now, it could overburden anyone except for the rich people.
I must encourage birth control here. I was 17 and went to Planned Parenthood and started using birth pills before I had sex with my long term, serious relationship. It was worth the wait. I was responsible then at the age of 17.
Yes, it was common way back when to be married and have children. But we are not in those times anymore. And if a girl should happen to get pregnant in highschool now, she wouldn't be sent off to a relative's house so no one would know. And probably would adopt the child out. Now they can stay in highschool while pregnant so she can graduate.
Teenagers and people in general need to be responsible for taking birth control, it would prevent a lot of pregnancies that end up being aborted as well. People can no longer say NO to birth control. Just do it.
Because today they have sex education and easy access to condoms and contraceptives. So there is no reason a girl should accidentally get pregnant unless they are raped.

In the old days females were expected to either be married or to NOT have a kid. This means that if you got pregnant without a man willing to marry you you'd go hide out in a convent or distant relative's place till you gave birth & then the kid was given to some RESPONSIBLE married couple or to the orphanage. Big daddy government wasn't going to rescue you with welfare checks or forcing the dude you slept with to give you child support. You actually had to think carefully about who you slept with and the possible downside of getting pregnant by the wrong guy. And him not being your husband made him the wrong guy if you had any common sense. Yes, there were women without common sense tho.
Is this even a question?
Because in the past... it was a married man and wife having a child. People married younger... people grew up faster and had harder lives and dealt with work and chores as kids. A married man and wife having a child is normal and ideal.
Today's youth lay around watching tv, listening to music, goofing off with friends until 20... most are lazy, self absorbed, selfish, immature and a high school kid getting knocked up and not married is a problem and kind of derails that person's life.ANY Teen pregnancy is a mistake. It is just taken more seriously today than it did in the old days. But unfortunately it took a "Teen Pregnancy Boom" for society to realize there was a problem and it had to begin being dealt with. Kids today have Parents who are too lenient or don't care enough about what their Children do, so that gives them too much slack, so the rules of right from wrong and moral and immoral go right out the window. Then suddenly the Parents are getting a call from the Sheriff's office, or the family Physician is calling her with the Parents into their office to tell them the test is Positive. And a lot of times it isn't for pregnancy, but an STD.
Well I think in total people think pregnancy should occur after marriage. Before people used to marry early as we know (child marriage you can say) but nowadays due to laws and all only adults marry. So if we see then if a unmarried girl gets pregnant then it is a mistake.
Because nowadays it implies irresponsibility rather than the opposite.
If you get married and start having kids right after high school, you're probably on the path to a happy, prosperous life.
If you get knocked up by your boyfriend because you two were too stupid to use protection, and he runs away, that's a tragedy. It's the way people are raised. In the old days people didn't go to college. They didn't go to high school. They didn't go to school at all. They took on responsibility at a young age. They learned very different things at a young age.
In the past, they were more prepared for adulthood at a much younger age. They were prepared to be married and have kids. Now they are not.It was more acceptable back then cause people were expected to grow up and actually care for their babies even when they were teens. Now a days most teens are so immature and can barely care for themselves let alone a baby too. Personally I had two of my babies while I was a teen but I did not have the luxury of being immature like so many other teen parents do. I had to grow up fast and get my shit together cause I didn't have family to depend on for help.
"In the old days," that teen girl was usually already married off with a source of support, and weren't usually concerned with their education or careers.
Today, almost no teen pregnancies happen in wedlock, and the mother has to rely on her parents especially if the father is an irresponsible deadbeat. It's a financial fiasco for a single teen girl to have a kid out of wedlock without completing education and leaving her own cradle first. Back in the day the girl would come under th husband's protection. She would cook, clean, make babies, etc. Now pretty much everyone has to work to scrap by. She'll likely end up a single parent and a welfare recipient.
People shouldn't worry cause it happens and the mother and child grow up together childbirth is never a mistake it's a Blessing, My late great-grandma gave birth at age 13 and her mother raised the child, Who was my late half great aunt, it happens in today's world my great aunt lived to age 81
If anything , a women not having children in her teens is a statistical outlier relative to the age of our species; way back in the day you did not live as long and many people died due to lack of medical technology. Women had to start popping out babies often and young before they were eaten by the saber tooth tiger or killed by the enemy tribe.
It’s basically a baby having a baby. They aren’t fully mature enough to take care and understand the responsibilities that come with having a child. Then again there are many adults that don’t know how to take care of a child either. But for teens these days it’s hard for them to continue on in their education and get a decent job
In the old days people were more mature and it was expected of them to get married if this happened but these days it is not like that. People sleep around with multiple partners with no regard for anything so a lot of times you see a teen girl pregnant with no man to take care of her or the baby so it is discouraged.
Because "in the old days" people lived to be 40 and were mature enough as teens to build a house from scratch by cutting down trees by hand, hunting for food, etc. Now teens have trigger words and need safe spaces. Family's also often set up arranged marriages to whoever offered the most valuable things to them. So basically female teens were sold to be raped.
Teen pregnancy is a mistake. No one should be in high school pumping out kids they can't even afford. The only reason it was "common" back in the day was because women were expected to marry at a younger age. There was no say so in the matter. As you can see now, those things aren't allowed today. Which is a good thing.
Teen pregnancy in the old days was common due to life expectancy.. Seriously look it up, teen pregnancy becomes less and less common the longer we live. Today it's simply stupid to get pregnant before one is in their 20's.
People of both genders are better educated now. Expectations are different as most people do not marry young. Birth control is widely available now. Pressure to use none because of not wanting to wait or prepare at a young age is often high.
Well it's a mistake mostly cause it was an accident, most teens aren't trying to have a baby in highschool, and if they are trying to they are an idiot. Who wants to waste their youth raising a kid? Wait till you 30
Because lot of things were diffrent in old days. It was normal to get married as soon as you hit puberty. You would also get tortured or even killed for adultery. That’s why those days are in the past, we shouldn’t desire them.
“Mistake “ = unplanned
In the modern world, having a child as a teen damn near ensure poverty and hardship for the vast majority of people.
