What is your view of people who give bad advice or purposely withhold good advice?

A reason I can think of is that some people learn and remember better through making a mistake. They won't listen to your advice, so you just let them make the mistake and when they screw up, you can correct them.

if somebody asks for advise and you won't help them i don't understand. giving bad advise could be a mistake or something worse
