I’m *not* non-binary, but my mother never taught me about the LGBTQ community, sex, or periods etc.. I came to know about everything by myself. I could never talk to her about any of this (except for periods, of course). My mom is narrow-minded because she was raised that way. She was brought up in a religious household. I do not blame her. People who were transgender or identified as non-binary were seen as “abnormal” when she was a teenager. The taboo still exists where I live.
One day, I asked her a hypothetical question.. “mum, what would you do if I come out to you and say that i was a part of the LGBTQ community?” I asked her this question because one of my friends came out to me as an aroace and another came out to me as bisexual. She didn’t know what it stood for, but she knew the meaning of homosexuality and what it was. When I told her what it meant, she stared at me, dead in the eye and went “please don’t be like them, honey. Be normal”. I was confused and I did not like her views at all. But I obviously respected it, because I should. She did not wish to talk about it. However, I do *not* want to raise my kids that way. Ignorance is NOT bliss. Kids, especially teenagers, need to know about this.
I would treat my kid the same way. I’d tell them that I was happy that they felt comfortable enough to come out to me. I’d support him/her, and treat them the same way I used to treat them before they opened up to me. It’s their life, their choice. As long as they’re not doing anything illegal and not hurting anyone, I don’t really care.
*looked at me, dead in the eyes*
I’d immediately separate them from school and friends because those are the only outlets influencing them and that behavior.
Im sorry I just don’t believe in gender identity and I don’t believe in Gay Pride. I just believe someone is altering peoples hormones.
This is all research just like how the water was turning frogs gay.
These governments are spray stuff in our sky and putting stuff in the water.
BE VERY CAREFUL AND WAKE UP.
The gay pride thing is all a cult. They’re tying to normalize pedophilia.

Not sure if satire or genuine idiot?
@EnglishEuropean Eh looking at their DeviantArt and YouTube I'm gonna go with a satirical idiot.
@EnglishEuropean .. you’re all bots. You’re all doomed
@ThatOutréLife You km owe nothing, stay asleep you NPC, you bot. 🤖
Stop ittt, you're making me laugh with how stupid you sound
Young children and teens rarely know what they want, need, or think. This is why their parents take care of them until they are old enough to leave the nest.
That said, I would ask them why they think that way. If it seems like it's just a trend they are chasing after, I'd point that out to them. If they are doing it simply because another person they like thinks that way, then I'd bite my tongue and hope the other person dumps them.
Those first two are superficial reasons, thus I'd say or do as I said. Now a young child is hardly capable of understanding the complexities of such a relationship. A teen is more capable, and if they seem genuinely interested in such a life, and it seems like it made them happy, then I'd give my blessing.
Talk it out with them and try to understand what they mean. Humans only have two genders, and absent some visible-from-birth medical abnormalities, you're one or the other; an objection to elements of your gender's traditional role and feeling that you don't fit within doesn't mean you're not your gender; it just means you don't fit into that role. That's okay; find the one you DO fit into. It'd mean a long talk about how social expectations are more descriptive than proscriptive, and that the horrors of the past can't escaped by diving deeper into them.
A lot of the specifics depend on what they have to say, of course.

I would reassure them that I do love them. I will not be forcing them to believe what I believe, I will only explain why I dont believe non binary is a thing and will not be supporting that belief. Dont expect me you by plural pronouns because i honestly believe by doing that it is a form of supporting/encouraging something I dont believe. Loving someone doesn't mean support their delusion, if you belief they are doing something wrong you dont assist them in the act instead you let them know. Love isn't forceful so they are always free to make their decisions at the end.
Igaf, what should I say? I hate you? You disgust me? They are the same child i pushed out of my vagina no matter what they identify as. I never got this. You could identify as a cucumber I'm not going to look at you differently. Its not going to change the love i have for you and I'm not going to treat you over the top with extra love and care. Its ridiculous. I'll call you what you want and if somebody is making trouble for my child. I will handle it, like a mother should.. But you will still be treated with the same love you got before you told me you were gay, non- binary, trans etc. Because if it's one thing people know. I'm not judgmental, I'm not biased, and i don't play about my family.
Y'all are wild in these comments.. Ouch hate to be y'all kids... Fuck, this is is why kids commit sucide. Nobody is telling you to shower them with new found affection and treat them different etc. But thats your child. If you were already loving them before why would you stop after hearing that? Love unconditionally fam.
I mean as i said I'm not going to spoil you or cry like you are telling me you have a disease or some shit. You non binary? Trans? Cool. We go school shopping its a normal occasion, we go to the doctor discuss hormones. Its normal. We want to normalize being LGBTQ but still treat it like its abnormal? How does that work? I don't want my child to grow up thinking they are different from any other bad or good. Listen you are YOU.
Mine wouldn’t. That’s a question for parents who delegated their paternal roles to TV, social media and aliens literally raising emotional zombies and a lost generation.
I don't care what my kids do in that reguard. Why should they be unhappy for someone elses view it leads to issues and suicide. I care if they are smart well rounded emotionally smart people. Who cares how they choose to live in that reguard. I care if they pick people to date that are not toxic. I care about their happness and future. I have two bi kids wtf is it my business. I don't need to worry about their lives in that way. It's so cruel when parents to start or people can't accept you and are difficult it messes them up. What unhappy addict kids or happy ones? It's unproductive you can't control how they are born. It's not some way to upset people it's how they are.
Kids that get brainwashed by that are from broken homes mostly. I've never met a normal person that was transgender, non-binary, a-gender et cetera. They were all abused and from broken homes. So, that would never happen (if I one day choose to have kids) my home would be a loving one and they'd go to a private school or homeschool. Public schools are a breeding ground for all this nonsense.
I might be more concerned about the fact that they apparently can't spell the name of a condition that they claim to have, unless they were really young because that would be sort of cute.
Yup, Spelling Police. Can't help it, it's my job.
Regarding the gender identity thing, I'd listen and then help them get some better help than me to figure out their best way forward. I'm one of those idiots who has the idea that helping each other is a better way to deal with issues, than pretending that there's always a right or wrong to them. The people I know who've taken that kind of action all say that it was about doing what they had to do or dying while still alive, or even actually ending up dead. Given that kind of choice range, I'd definitely rather help to do whatever is necessary to keep that person alive.
That shit gone have to wait til you’re 18 and have moved out my house. Until then, you got two choices— I can refer to you as the pronoun of the gender you were born as or i can refer to you as “it”. But that terms seems to have already been taken by another clown 🤷♀️
I would do my best to correct them while showing I care. It is a parent's responsibility to teach their kids right from wrong, even when it is society itself that is wrong. This is also why I would more than likely put my kids in private school or home school. I would also put them in therapy since something is obviously mentally wrong.
Just by looking at some of these reponses I can tell that some you of you are simple-minded and would rather see their child broken and upset because who they are.
You would want to see your kid after you shattered their hearts because you told them they're not vaild to be themselves, that they're sins for exsisting.
You're going to separate that kid from their friends and people that they're around, that they care and love, because you don't like who your kid is?
You act like sendind your kid to a private school will prevent them from being LBGTQ , heads up it doesn't. There are people of all types everywhere so even if you move your child from puplic to private school they're still bound to be people there just like them and there's not much you can do about it.
Well, I'm never going to have children so thankfully I won't have to worry about this. But let's just say somehow I did...
I would tell them that they can consider themselves whatever the fuck they want to be considered. But that won't change the fact that they are who they were born as on their birth certificate the day of their birth. And it won't change who they were when they die and are cremated or buried.
If they are buried, even if their friends cover their grave is girly shit when they were born male, if their body were dug up, their skeleton would look male.
What they think they feel is on the inside isn't bone deep.
Nice way of letting everyone know you’re transphobic, seeing your replies to comments. Lol.
I would support my child no matter what. If identifying as non-binary makes them more comfortable and helps them to love themself, then I will support them 100%. Most people have had trouble with being comfortable in their own skin from time to time, so if my child found a way to be more comfortable, then I would tell them to go for it.
I stand at your side, milady. I second this.
I know that won't happen to me. But, supposing it did, I'd ignore that bs he/she just said, take them to nature for a couple of weeks so they can refresh their minds and focus on physical work, house chores, creativity, nice things, and no more internet and friends I don't know in person and approve.
I would have to have the conversation about biology and that behavior and preferences isn't gender. Feelings and wishes doesn't make something true. And that you can't force your opinion onto others. You have to tolerate their view but you don't have to align to it or embrace it.
I hope some of these people are either joking and if they’re serious don’t have kids because some of these comments scare me. Some of y’all sound abusive.
I would be happy that they felt comfortable to talk to me about it and I would ask them to explain it more to me and why they feel that way. I would tell them at the end of the day they are human and to just be themselves. I have to admit that I don’t understand the importance of labeling yourself non-binary. Is it just not being overly masculine or feminine? I don’t understand why you can’t just be not a girly female or manly man but still call yourself your own gender but maybe I’m missing something.
I'd be emotionally supportive but there is no way we'd be doing any hormone replacement or anything until he or she is older.
Wearing the other genders clothes? Sure. Addressed as the other gender? Cool.
Medical procedures or treatment that can radically alter their development, mental state, sense of self for life at an age most kids don't know who they are, what they believe, haven't developed the ability to see long term consequences, or even who they're attracted to yet? Fuck no. Closer to adulthood if they still feel the same we can explore that option.
I would be very quiet and calm trying to process that and then ask them what brought that thinking on and where they heard it from.
If a kid is saying something like that at that age, it is more than likely because they are being influenced by people around them to think something like that with little to no context and can easily confuse them.
"You're a boy/girl everything else is a costume worn by people with low self esteem, and too much food, clothing and shelter in their lives."
When little Timmy jumps off of a bridge, not because he was discriminated against for being a dude wearing girls clothes but because he wasn't 'trans' at all, (60%-90% grow out of it by adolescence) he was lonely, depressed, being abused, etc and someone thought "Oh, he must be some form of degenerate," you can thank this person:
I m straight and will always be straight, but i m going to support my future children, protect them, but also let them do what they love. I m going to let them choose their own gender when they are 16 years old. Of course i would love to be a grandmother, but familj is not just about sharing blood, its more than that.
What If it was normal to be a non binery gender in the world, but not normal to be straight? Should i stop non binery gender people from being straight?
As long as my future children don't get Hurt or Hurt other, I m going to support them.
If God punish people for being non binery/hbtq, then even God is not so loving. Its not a sin to love or to want to be loved.
Love and support. If ever there was a time to provide it, it's when they come to you and literally bare their emotional soul. If you respond with weapon in hand, figuratively or literally, you're going to make them resent you for the rest of their life. Then, reading some of these replies, I see for a lot of you those feelings would be pretty fucking mutual huh?
I don't have children but my support and love for them would be unconditional. When you have a child you accept them no matter their expression or gender. As long as they're happy, safe, loved and good people. I would want to love and protect them and encourage them to be genuine to themselves. My only fear would be if I was a mother how other people in the world can be and how cruel others are.
first i would ask them what they think that means and see where the gap in logic is
then i would explain the difference between sex and gender and explain how intelligent people only believe in sex. not gender.
then explain how since gender isn't real and they were born male or female. they can't ever be non binary
I'll ask them to explain and educate me, and if during their process of building that presentation they do not change in their idea of who they want to be, that's who they want to be and that's it. Do I approve of the sociopolitical repurposing of words to suit opinion, no. But I'm not in the business of telling people what to do, and neither will they be.
I'd tell them to let that thought marinate for a few years until they're old enough to really understand what it is that they're experiencing.
If we can't trust a child to smoke, drink, drive or vote, we can't trust them to permanently and irreversibly alter their body and ruin the rest of their life.
I’d want to have a conversation with them about it, so I can try to understand and learn from them and listen to them. Since I’d be raising my kids with my faith, I guess the topic of faith would be brought into it, but I wouldn’t be harsh, mean or rude with my child. They’d be my child and no matter who they are, I’d love them unconditionally.
Critically, play 'devil's advocate', and query them in depth, what THEY understand that choice truly means!
Make THEM talk it out TO you. Make them think it through aloud. Such things are not to be espoused lightly.
It could be a misunderstanding or just they're going through a phase.
they were born either male or female, so they're not non binary. i'd transfer them to another school and have them cut ties with everyone from before. if they have a different sexuality, that'd be alright. but a completely different gender? no.
I'd have to sit down and think about it. So I'd tell them I need some time to think. I'm all about personal freedom. But I also know that the decision they are making can very much lead to some serious back lash and make them a serious target for bullying if not full on abuse. Given that we will never live in a world of sun shine and rainbows this decision can lead to them being a target so long as they hold themselves to it. Possibly long after I'm in the ground if they still identify as such.
Imma ask them questions that are way beyond their intellect and would make em wonder about their existence and how others influence is affecting their life more than their own self. Rather than brainwashing imma just try to open their eyes? Then they can decide whatever the fuck i am ok with that unless and until its not for fucking attention.
I will ask them who taught them about this nonsense or where did they learn about it. Then I will explain them that there are only men and women. If they got to know about this stuff from an adult he/she would have problems, we have a law which allows to imprison such people
I would say you will probably struggle and this is not going to be easy but you should embrace what you feel and what you identify with. I would suggest some therapy sessions so they could figure out what's truly going on. I've been a teen myself and I know how hard this can be and I never felt comfortable enough in having these type of conversations with my parents because I know my father would be pissed off and judge me instead of trying to understand me.
I would tell them " you can do what ever you want... when you're 18" unfortunately being a parent involves the un fun shit like being the adult and guiding your children instead of letting tiktok and Twitter do it for you.
Show me the chromosome fax. And point me in the direction of the demons that are deceiving you otherwise, so I can promptly bash their skulls in and send them back to Hell!
I'd support them, I'd also take the time to make sure they understand what identifying as a gender or sexuality means so that they can truly know.
People aren't brn default as hetero or cis, it's just everyone naturally assumes it so they need the coming out, they only realise what they were later on. I wouldn't want my kid to go on not understanding themselves cause I said they were too young.
I would tell them I love and care for them. Then I would ask them which pronouns they would like me to use, and if they wish to be called by another name. Afterward, we would talk about therapy because they deserve to have a safe space to talk about this.
Tell them they are ignorant and didn't listen to how I raised them. Then once they are 18 they wouldn't be welcome in my house anymore because obviously they have become a liberal democrat.
I think I would just tell him "I'm tired of you"
I have no idea how to respond if not, I think all this stuff is bullshit and annoying.
Or I would just not respond and tell him to go say this to his / her father
I'd tell them that I'm proud of them for coming to me and ask what pronouns they would prefer. I'd ask if they would like to use a different name, change their clothing style, get a haircut. Anything to make them feel comfortable in their own body.
I would also suggest that they see a professional because an identity crisis comes with a lot of confusing feelings and I'd like them to have a safe way to express those.
I'd never have kids, but hypothetically I'd back them 100 percent. When i was a teen I went through a period where I believed I was trans and because most of my family is conservative... I don't even have to say how well that went. I'd want the best for them regardless of identity and I'd want to support it best I can.
I'd ask my self why I ever allowed my kid access tiktok or similar social media places where such brainless influencers hurt the minds of naive young kids
I’ll sheets support my kids, nothing would change🤷♀️
Always not sheets * stupid ass phone
In other words you are totally against biology and actual science?
In other words I’d support my children through whatever they were going through.
Nice way to dodge the question self pro claim believer in science. 🤷♂️
Very cool guy to comment on one’s persons opinions 😉 did your own question trigger your anger?
It really depends on the age
For example, if the child was like 8 years old. I wouldn't take it very seriously
Children at that age likely have little to no real concept of sex or gender.
Most likely it was influenced by outside forces.
Teenagers, or Young Adults? Well I would applaud them
If this is something that came out of nowhere then it's nothing but outside influence, trying to fit in.
I would only consider the possibility if there is resistance to toys marketed towards the sex my child was born with, but even still its still not proof that gender dysphoria is there.
I would want my kids to be safe and get help through any identity crisis or transformation they undergo. Hopefully by the time I "have a kid" I would know a lot more about this type of thing and be able to help them navigate it in a healthy way.
Tell them to get off the internet and stop playing pronoun games.
My kids are home-schooled and won’t be taught any of that nonsense, so that just won’t happen. If you’re able to home-school and you still put them in school knowing that this stuff is being rammed down their throats you’re an idiot.
I'm done with these fucking genders. There are only male and female. Fuck others!!!
I’d ask them where they got such a ridiculous idea from.
I would explain to them it is not possible. God created 2 genders for the human race. Male and Female.
Support them in anyway I could like a good parent would I clouding helping them seek a therapist if desired.
"Thank you for telling me. I am proud of you for having the courage to tell me and you have my full support"
If I had a child who asked me that, I'd explain to them that Biological sex and gender are the same thing, and that there are ONLY 2 sexes/genders. And the sex that they are is the sex that they will ALWAYS be. That it's impossible to change their sex/gender.
And that they should come to me if they hear any confusing info about this subject at school, and I will correct their thinking if necessary
... and it would be highly probable that my wife and I would have them attending a strong Vatican One Catholic church for their education instead of the Public School System.
I'd comfort them, cause its scary coming out, and then ask what they want
Send them to the orphanage and hunt down and kill those who put these ideas in his or her mind. There is no room for lgbtq people.
No kid of mine will be raised in nor influenced by this degenerate shit, because i will be HOMESCHOOLING them.
Take then to farm and make them work al there life.
Those generation are so spoiled and addicted.
That's too young to be making that kind if decision. I'd have a heart to heart talk with them and try to find out why they think that.
You will find that you are up against a brick wall if you try to change a child's mind about something. Let them believe as they wish and deal with the consequences.
Get them some professional help before they become an adult.
I would tell them that they do not need to "Identify" as anything... and they should just avoid the idiocy of current politics and be happy, and open to changinging their outlook and opinions as they grow up
Do not worry about labels have safe fun and enjoy life!
