Why do people force religion on me?

This is especially happening in my family. My mom does bible study with this lady and she gave her my number without asking me first or letting me know. The lady had called and texted me scriptures asking questions and I don't know how to respond to most of them.

I’m not an atheist, I’m just not into bible studying and haven’t went to church since I was a kid/preteen. But as an adult it should be my choice to not want to be apart of it instead of feeling forced to just because someone said so.

And then on top of that, my brother hasn’t gotten any messages or calls from her. Only me. And I don’t wanna be rude, but it doesn’t feel encouraging to join in, the vibe mostly feels like “You have to do this/that” As if I don’t have a choice.

I even get the same speech from aunties or other random people as if I can’t say no or otherwise they’ll get upset about it.

That's how religion is well more specifically organised religion. It was always made to enforce people living in the same way with the same rules like Government but even worse. Because they would apply stuff that cannot be proven Fundamentally bad into it aka Dogmatic beliefs as laws, and then people would shoe boxing them into it.
Many people have tried to fight this over history like the Founding fathers with separation of church and state but none the less it still manages to hold weight.

It's a reason to ditch that family honestly.

I feel your pain. It should be your choice.

I am the same as you. I believe in God but I see too much hypocrisy in church to like it that much.

They say that God doesn't want you to have sex unless you are married but I'll bet 98% of the people at church did it or are doing it now.

Since when is a text message "forced"? If it would be a different message would you call it "forced"? you can delete and block a message... same as any mesage... but you did NOT block messages that is not forced.
