What should I do when visiting family who are politics mad?

They love trump, obese and you can't have your own opinion on any of the politics cause they get so triggered

Haha my dad is the same way. He watches a lot of news so much so its like im having a conversation with a new anchor. Despite our differences on political opinions i need to find a common problem and branch off of that to sway the conversation to another direction. This can or can not work. For example oil seems to be a huge topic of any side. I take the problem of oil in shift it from political to a business. The conversation slowly moves towards talking about investments, cars, cooking etc. Its about looking at the political aspect in any conversation and moving it to a more real life situation that effects you directly today

Really that's the best way to handle it in general. Talking to people about politics, even family can very much be like poking a sleeping bear with a stick. Hell bringing up politics at a family reunion might turn it into a brawl
