Neighbor old lady calls me stupid?

Hey guys
so I am in highschool and want to go to university the next year and it bothers me that my neighbor, an old lady, were talking about me on the balcony (my mom heard her and she told me this) that she doesn't know where i am going to. But she guesses that i already work, as I would be too dump for higher education and university..

Why does she think that? She has never ever spoke to me on an intellectual level, that she could say that

She probably thinks that about all teenagers. There's an old couple on my street that think all teenagers are looking for sex and drugs and it's not true. Just like I'm sure it's not true that you're dumb. Forget about her and what she thinks she doesn't know you.
