I would consider motherhood to be special at least because it's the only natural way humans come in this world.
Yes it's messy and pregnancy is one of the hardest parts of life that's not comparable to anything else.
But nevertheless it's something special and having done it should be honoured more than it's done now.

I DO think that MOTHERHOOD is very sacred. Once you have nursed your baby from your breast with milk that you have produced in your own body. you will totally understand. I love it when I am nursing my youngest and she makes the cutiest suckling sounds, just like a puppy and looks up at me when she suckles as if to say I wuv you mommy and never misses a beat and goes right back to suckling.

Religious or not, I think it is very precious at the least.
From a philosophical view, it is only important to those people whose genes are being continued via a certain birth and motherhood, not anyone else. E. g. to a lion it would look like the preparation of a yummy meal, something to be killed to sustain the lion for a few more hours.

Marriage is sacred, parenthood is a blessing. Not the same thing. Just like $100,000 falling into an ungrateful person's lap thinking it's not enough not every woman who has a child or finds out she is pregnant is a good enough person to see they have a blessing.

I wouldn't consider it to be sacred, but very special. When I was pregnant, I couldn't get over the fact that I had a human being growing inside my body. It is a miracle in my eyes since I did experience it.
