My friend and myself are planning to meetup with a girl we don’t know to go hiking with? Do you think this would be awkward?

This girl joined my meetup group and seems the only one interested in this hiking trip other then the friend I already know.

How can it be less awkward?

She told me she couldn’t go because of working late the night before.

I am a little disappointed.

What do you think her choice to tell me the night before indicates?

Maybe see if you can bring another one of her or your female friends along or meet in a public area and take photos so she feels safe.

First of all, does she know that she'll be the only woman there? That's essential. If she does and she's willing to go, will you be camping overnight?

Then I wouldn't worry about it. Just treat her like any other new friend who's coming on a hike with you. Show her the planned route, make it clear how much vertical there is, and what resources you'd recommend bringing along. And have fun!

Maybe nerves. Maybe 2 women going with her the first time assuming you have several women. Some people need to warn up to the idea. The unknown is a scary place. Once she does it once or a few times she might become more comfortable with a larger group. Just a thought

Yeah that sucks I totally get what your doing and if definitely tag along. Waking is fun alone better with like minded people
