How come I am reluctant against having children?

I'm 30 years old and ever since I was young I knew I never wanted children and I feel resentful even thinking about having children or someone asking me about having children... Why is that?

what happened when you were young? Emotional "damage" can occur even in the womb, trauma is passed on generations. Maybe someone projected negative feelings on you or you saw some relationship situatio that emotionally impacted you. Your translation of that was..."I don'twant this pain".

looking back, I was raised to be single and not have kids. That was by way of abuse, being put down, and fear passed on by parents. Your answer is back in early life. It isn't just what happens or is projected to you, but how you interpret it and processed.

I never wanted them, either. I don't even think babies are all that cute. And kids can be monsters at times.

I didn't want to get saddled the responsibilities or financial obligations. Pee, poop, vomit, drama, clothes, toys, sports, school, college, worries. You have to dedicate your life to it.

My only reason for having kids would have been to pass on my family name. After all, I'm the end result of genealogy from the dawn of time. It's kind of sad that it stops with me. But the hassle wasn't worth it.

I got married when I was 42. My wife was 38. Neither of us had ever been married, but we had both lived full, fun lives. We've been married for over 25 years now and are both relieved with not having children.

Why? How was your home life growing up? If it wasn't happy then it's understandable that you may fear repeating that experience with children of your own.

But many people choose not to have children for various reasons, not all due to an unhappy upbringing. If you don't want children, then don't have any.
