What would do as a mother knowing your 9/10 year old hitched a ride form a stranger who brought him home?

what would you do if you were a mother and or a father and the situation and he heard the person out

I'd say its your choice, but explain the risks. I'd offer them self defense classes. Most people are ok, I've given rides to people long ago and stopped to help all sorts of people. But there's always that one crazy that can end someones life fast.

This is true I would never trust anyone in seattle to take care of a kid like that. Eastern sand western Washington are pretty much 2 completely different states you can trust people on the east side but not on the west side. To many perverts over there, especially since parents in Seattle will literally take their children or to watch transvestites strip at a bar which is illegal but no one does anything about it anyway

I would lose my shit! First, why TF was a 9/10 year old unsupervised? Second, why TF was he hitching a ride?

Third, you should NOT have given the kid a ride, you should have asked the kid for a phone number to call and or called the police.

Yea he was at a friends how and his buddies parents were going to the college at the time. So they we’re probably inside doing homework. Fortunately Ellensburg is a small town that is mostly conservatives so we take care of kids but still your right I shouldn’t have given the kids a ride.

I'd tell my kid to ring me or his father next time, and explain why he shouldn't take lifts from anyone. I certainly wouldn't ground him or punish him. He's a naive kid.

Fair enough I was also naïve since I was only 25 at the time (or 26 can’t remember). Either way I was going to the college at the time figured meh why not. Turns out it wasn’t that far either.

Logically she should have been, I’m a stranger I don’t know her kid, he had a bike and was riding it around with his friend. He asked me for a ride right as I’m about to turn into student apartments (I was going to college at the time) studying to become a teacher (dropped the teaching part and went for political science instead of a double major or history and teaching) so of course I’m not going to harm a kid, I also have nieces and nephews a little older then the kid. So I’m not a bad guy I have no wish to do harm to children. But it would make sense she would be scared of me because she doesn’t know me
