It depends. I believe hitting your kids for absolutely no reason or when you're drunk is a danger to the children so it is considered abuse. However I think hitting them if they misbehave is not considered abuse but it doesn't mean it's right. Just like how we hit our siblings when they're being mean or annoying or when you slap/smack someone because of something they said or did out of anger, it just means it is't right and we should react in a better way. If you heat someone for a reason, it doesn't necessarily mean you're "abusive", it just means you didn't take your anger out in the right way.

Yes. I don’t believe in getting physical with a child. If they are doing something wrong then use your words. Hitting them only makes them think that that is an ok thing to do.

Kids should only be spanked if they don't respond to verbal reprimand. They should not be slapped on the face or punched. A simple slap on the butt with only the hand.
