How do I help my upset cousin after being almost interrogated by the family?

Our family was having a get together reunion thing and it was all going well until some started drinking a bit too much, making stupid comments etc. which was just annoying!
so I started watching some sport to avoid talking.. In the other room I overheard them now questioning my younger cousin if he's finally dating a nice girl, giving him tips for picking up girls, telling him which girls to go after etc. he's normally quiet & shy but I could tell he was getting progressively upset based on his tone

Finally he just got up and said ''Back off, I'm just not interested.. I don't need your help because I'll do things my way and I can be with whoever I want to be with!'' - then walked off.

Then they were just like ''wow what's wrong with him today? we're just tryin to help... If he keeps talking like that people will think he's, you know queer or something'' - followed by laughing

I wanted to go see how he was later but when he gets upset he likes to be alone to listen to his music.

Should I go talk to him or what should I do?

I'd suggest that you not go to him right now, but if you have his Mobile Number drop him a 'if you need to talk, I'm here' text, then leave it to him,
If he wants to talk do it somewhere neutral like a coffee shop or somewhere he suggests, so he doesn’t feel pressured, and then just listen to him and do not interrupt him.
If he asks a question answer it truthfully and let him see that your first concern is him and nothing else.
He may just need to vent, or many need to talk out what he’s feeling, If he confides some thing confidential then keep that confidence what he is saying id between you and him, Treat it like Fight Club, when he’s finished assure him that everything said stays between the two of you and you’ll be there if he needs to talk again.

Do a sports thing together. Suggest to do something you know he likes. Don’t talk about incident-if it was me.
