Do you wish Happy Birthday to people you barely have any kind of contact with?

For example you knew that person once but many many years ago and no longer you are in touch with that person not even in person or by text or by phone, etc etc you just see that person on social media becaue you have that person on your contact list but it is not that that person is your close BFF cause that person is not that.

So that person wish HB to that person who barely have any kind of contact with.

No. Why would I wish someone I barely know a happy birthday? Especially if they're online/social media and I don't associate with them on a regular basis.

I remember when I used to be active on facebook, how they sent alerts telling you when it's a "friend's" birthday? I never said anything unless they were actually my friend. Otherwise, it didn't really serve a purpose for me. I even disabled the option on my account to keep people from knowing when my birthday is (Because why have people that never talk to me suddenly flood my page once a year?)

Now if it is someone I associate with in person (ie: a coworker, acquaintance) and they tell me it's their birthday? I will wish them happy birthday out of courtesy.

I still say HB to old friends from school on FB or text the ones I have their #. It's just decency I guess.

I still wish happy birthday to a girl I dated 10 years ago, and she in turn wishes me happy birthday too. She's a good person and I hope it makes her smile like she makes me smile when she wishes me a happy birthday.
