What was I supposed to do with this information? How would you have responded to a text like this?

So I was a caretaker for this person's child 7 months ago but I left. The moms mood switched like a light switch, nothing you discuss with her was ever between you and her , and the husband was nosy and obnoxious.

Anyways, the husband text me about his wife's father being dead and asked me if I could do him a favor by texting her condolences and sent me a zoom to the funeral. I personally felt this situation was none of my business, nothing I can do to fix it and if the wife wanted me to know she would've told me herself. So I didn't attend the funeral nor send condolences.
