Are You a Cat or a Dog Person?

My wife and I have had one to two cats at a time since we got married over 25 years ago. I rescued one from certain death when she was 5 weeks old and we had her for almost exactly 22 years. We rescued 4 older cats from a shelter. We currently have a very petite and elegant 17 year old Burmese that we took from some people who were moving around 10 years ago. And we got another cat about a year ago. He's a big, super furry, Marmalade-orange, party Maine coon.
Every one we ever had was super sweet and they all had different personalities. We loved them all.
I like dogs a lot, but I don't want to live with one. They're too needy and dependent. They are high maintenance. They're kinda stinky and they bark.
You don't have to walk cats. They are soft, warm and cuddly, and they don't stink. They don't bark. They don't need constant attention or get freaked out when you leave they at home. They are also handy at thinning mice and rodents out of the garden.
This is a distinction I really dislike but most people categorize themselves this way.
Why wouldn't you like any interactive social animal I ask? What's not to like? There are other social animals but horses and goats don't fit in apartments. I get that people appreciate how easy dogs are and building a relationship with a cat is higher effort. But my cat sits at my feet whilst I am on GAG. He is at the door waiting for me when I come home cause I have put the effort in.
When my dog died i got a cat because it just seemed disloyal to plug compatible replace replace him after he had shared his life with me.
To be honest if you tell me you don't like cats or dogs or pets at all, and can't interact with them then I'll be wondering how good you are at forging enduring bonds with other humans.
Socially, I like both dogs and cats but hygienically, cats are cleaner, less likely to throw up, live longer, and are less likely to get upset if your too busy to socialize with them so I would rather buy a cat than a dog. My old dog would get a nervous bout of fear if we went more than 4 hours without playing with him and I was in school and going to church and my parents had dual careers as engineers and consultants. We were too busy to play with him.
I love both but I only had cats. They sit and chill, they purr, they headbutt and they're very calm. I love that about them.
I don't know what it's like to have a dog, but I have come across some good boys in the past. They don't bark, don't lick attack you, don't jump on you, they stay put where you want them to. I would like such a dog. It must be fun walking such a good boy.

I honestly think I am a cat person (who would have said that, looking at my profile picture?).
I’m more introvert and I don’t like physical contact, plus I prefer to be alone than in company of invading and disturbing people.
I like a lot cats since I feel they’re very handy and if they respect you, you’re really worthy of respect, since they don’t give anything for free.
I sincerely don’t appreciate dogs too much since they’re too depending and too invading, they’re loyal but they are friends with everyone so I feel devalued with them.
I love both, and have had both, but I have cats.
Easier to take care of.
You can go away for the weekend and they are fine.
A dog has to go out ever so often, so you either need to make arrangements for someone to do it or be back home to do it yourself.
Plus cats poop in a box, not on your lawn.
I lean to dogs, but I had a girlfriend with a cat which I adored. The cat would climb onto the bed and sleep on top of my chest, which was something I never saw it never do with the girlfriend.
Cats are the superior race.
Dogs bark too damn much
Makes me Wanna Beat them.
I used to have a dog 🐕 best thing that ever happened to me was Having that dog 🐕 and It being my dog 🐕 Other people in the family said it was there dog 🐕 but it was my dog and my dog only. My dog hung out with me all the time and was there for me and slept in my bed with me and I used to Spend hours before bed talking to my dog about space aliens.
I had to Put her down her body finality Expired and I Took her to the vet and Helped the vet pick her up and I held her as she Took her last Breath
I know the exact time and date when she took her last Breath as I looked at the time right when she took her last Breath
I prefer dogs, because I don't know what to do with cats. I can have a dog chase a ball, get him all excited, run a mile, and give him a treat hidden inside a toy that he has to puzzle and he'll be happily wagging his tail. Meanwhile a cat just stares at me like "The fuck you want?"
Dogs are high maintenance, they can get smelly and you not only need to wash them but walk them. I hate smelly anything so cats are better.
Cat person. I don't hate dogs. But cats are their own person so to speak. They like affection, but they're cool with having their own space. Dogs are too needy to me. They want constant attention. You could pet a dog 23 hrs. A day and they'd still want to be petted the 24th.
I’m an animal person. Currently have dogs though. Would love a cat eventually but for now my dog would kill it so bad idea. And I eventually want a couple reptiles.
Dogs. They are loyal and protective. Cats are aloof, worthless for protection, and killbeautiful creatures such as birds just to play.
I like both, but cats are better in so many ways (ex. they're much cleaner, are far more independent).
Cat person
im not a fan of dogs tbh. Last time I said that on here, several people called me a psychopath and accused me of being a dog abuser lol
I've had both dogs and cats, along with guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, parakeets and fish. Overall, though, I'm more of a dog person.
I like both... though I've had more cats than dogs throughout my life.
Dog person forsure, but I’ve come to like cats more as I got older. I love all animals in general.
i have had both as pets but csts suit my lifestyle right now.
I love them both, but I definitely lean more towards cats
Dogs. I’ve always wanted one. Had a cat as a kid but not a fan.
I like both cats and dogs. Dogs are your most faithful companions. Cats are fuzzy soft little creatures.
I love them both but I work 16 hour shifts every day so I prefer to have a cat just because there easier to take care of
i love both i work at doggy day care it’s a fun job
