How beta do you think it is if a guy is willing to raise another man's kid and would rather be "daddy" than hang out with his pals?

In my opinion, it's a totally pathetic thing for him to do, but it's his life and his friends should not make fun of him for doing it. I can't for the life of me figure out why a man would rather raise some other man's kids than to have his own, but the large number of single moms means that some guys will have to date them or else they won't have a girlfriend at all. And there are always some simps that are proud of themselves for doing it for some bizarre reason. If a friend of mine wanted to do it, I'd strongly advise him against it.

About a month ago, I heard that one of these guys that raised someone else's kid explained what happened to him. He raised his stepdaughter as his own, coaching her teams as she grew up and paying for her college tuition. How did she and his wife reward him? When it came time for the young lady to get married, she had her deadbeat dad, who had had no role whatsoever in raising her, walk her down the aisle at her wedding. She and her mother told the stepfather that he was being a snowflake for being angry about that, and too late, he decided to get divorce. This may be an extreme example, but it exemplifies how the guys that do this are not respected and instead are being taken advantage of.

Yeah, no. Good for him for loving that kid, and stepping up as a responsible father figure when he didn't have to. He chose to date a woman with a kid, and that means being there for, and loving, the kid, as well as his girlfriend.

If his "friends" treat him like shit over being a mature adult, then it sounds like they need to grow the hell up.

My parents divorced when I was 10. My dad remarried a girl that had a toddler. He raised that boy as his own and he eventually had another son with his new wife. He was more of a father to another man's kid than ever was to me.

Fast forward and I gave 3 children of my own. My dad got divorced again and has a new girlfriend. He seems to embrace his role as "bonus" grandpa to her grandkids and has little to do with his own.

I think he is a puny little worm (beta male), but it's just my opinion.

He's doing what's best for him, not for you and his friends, which is obviously the wise thing for him to do. I agree with your rationalization of it. However, if you were wondering, there is a stigma in being the raiser of the kid vs the one who got her pregnant. I think that is why guys don't like it. It makes them feel like a loser.

Well , in short, it basically makes them feel like they were the 2nd choice and are being used for reasons that are somewhat outside of the heart. A sucker. Filling in for a family that actually belongs to another man. I think guys with a healthy self-image will be able to rationalize there way out of that way of thinking.

However, I still wouldn't want to date a girl with a kid. Not for any of those reasons though.
