I took this picture just now and I am not that scared anymore.

what about you?
My parents in 1982 said I could watch this new movie written by Stephen King. They were of the opinion its the guy who made ET it can’t be that scary. So they let me watch Poltergeist.
I was terrified of the big tree in our backyard for years after.
Why? Like your own lol?
Ever watch the Xfiles? One episode there was a guy whose shadow would make people just erase entirely if you stepped on it.
I am scared of driving, I hate being in cars for any amount of time, despite that I am a passenger frequently. I used to be scared of spiders, now I just pick them up.

For a long time, I was scared of weeds because I had idea what poison ivy looked like and wanted NOTHING to do with it!! So, I avoided ANY weeds at all costs (unless I knew what they were)!! Seeing a couple episodes of, Lost In Space where plants tried to hurt or kill people didn't help, either!! About 10 years ago, I actually saw a bunch in my neighbor's yard and, then, while digging them out of my yard (they spread over here from her yard) discovered that I'm not even allergic to poison ivy so, now, I'm not afraid of weeds anymore!
My other big fear was that, after the whole "Paul is dead" hoax came out and we found lots of the supposed clues in the Beatles' records, for some odd reason, I got it in my head that any time I'd go up the stairs to my room on the third floor, I had to run REALLY fast up those stairs because Paul was gonna come out of my parents' bedroom (across the hall from those stairs) with a huge knife and try to kill me!! After about a year or two, I stopped that.
when I was a toddler and all the way through kindergarten I was very wary of "life-like dolls" and my grandma's collection of porcelain dolls... also mannequins, I was not exactly afraid or scared them lol
I was just very uncomfortable near them because my imagination would just trick me like if it were a dream-state and they were always about to move or shout or something so this would give me some anxiety even if I knew well it would just not happen but.. . WHAT IF IT EVER DID HAPPEN!!! lmao
glad I grew up out of it... lol
What scared me the most in ny childhood were many things. The first thing it was, to turn on the lights when the corridor was fully dark with an open door. I'd want to go to the restroom with my parents together😂🙈. They'd bring me to the door and leave all the lights on.
The second thing were elevators. I'd be scared to ride with them alone because I thought of the worst scenarious that could ever happen. (Turned off lights while stuck. Then suddenly moving floor to floor without the door would open).
Hope you had popcorn too😂
Good to know that you don't share with anyone😂😌😌
My grandparents had a picture on their wall of the 'laughing cavalier'. It didn't matter where I stood in the room it's eyes were looking at you. Freaked me out as a kid so much I couldn't be alone in the room with it.
Of course as I grew older I found it was a well known feature of the painting and the artist had deliberately painted it that way.
Something of an urban myth here in the UK about a picture called 'Blue Boy' and people had a tendency to hang it over their fireplace. It is said that if you hang it over your fireplace it will catch fire. My grandparents hung it over their fireplace and that freaked me out too.
Of course growing up this was a very popular print ad so the law of averages that a house fire would have a blue boy in the building were higher than normal. Just happened to be a very popular painting print at the time.
Omgg thunder used to scare me too! I’d scream if my family left me alone in a room by myself. I think I went in the bath one time and kept my ears under the water, and only heard the water running through the pipes when one storm had been really bad.
My family told me lots of stuff to combat it like God made it, he wouldn’t let it hurt me, they were fine so I was fine. My dad had said the angels were bowling 🎳 lol and when I heard the thunder it was a strike or something.
My real fear as a kid, were demons, but I’m really just not impressed by them. I’m not gonna stop living my life if I seen one. I’d be like “okay? You need to go, nobody likes to look at that. Ya nasty.” 😂
Very little scares me these days.
I technically died in 2020 after a 3 month hallucination in a coma caused by an extreme case of Covid, then two weeks after I survived thanks to 4 hours CPR and another two weeks unconscious (meaning no hallucination) I woke up with no brain damage. Total kidney failure has recovered to steady at 40% function. Complete cardiac and respiratory arrest and I have zero long term lung damage and a structurally perfect heart - both medically impossible given my coma and resuscitation and the cause thereof.
Two weeks after that my right leg below the knee had to be amputated to save my life - under local anesthesia because general anaesthetic would have killed me, so I was given a normal sleeping pill so I'd sleep through the amputation and warned if I woke up during the process they couldn't stop and I would need to stay awake.
You think I'd be truly scared of anything after that?
Oh, and heights. Heights unnerve me.
Darkness used to frighten me as a child cause I had reoccurring nightmares of demons coming up out of hell portals and dragging me into hell and me being unable to shout and scream while they did it. These are nightmares when I was like 5, 6, or 7, and they only came in the dark. I've long since not been afraid of the dark anymore, but I still prefer the light from the window, computer, or TV to sleep to, instead of total darkness.
I have no real phobias or fears as of right now, although shrinking scares me a bit.
Zombies. I saw night of the living dead when i was 5 and happened to live near a graveyard and so was paranoid until about the age of 12. The weird thing about paranoia is that it assumes others think you are interesting. Once you lose that and discover that in fact almost no one is thinking of you at all it's a little bit depressing, so I can see why people might actually cling to their paranoia, if it is ever a choice to stop. But I would contend that such people do not suffer real terror due to their paranoia. I was too relieved to be rid of mine to care much about the sadness of being ignored.
I used to have a phobia of vacuum cleaners, lol. When I was a kid my brother vacuumed up my favourite blanky and ripped it to shreds inside the vacuum, and my fear spiralled from there. I would have an absolute meltdown if I was in the same room as someone who was vacuuming. The janitor at my primary school thought it was hilarious and would chase me around with the vacuum after classes would end, I’d go home crying.
I guess spiders. They used to bug me out, now I let them rock where they are. I have one in my house that’s wicked smart and spun a web around the nightlight in my kitchen. So at night it gets all the moths and fruit flies and mosquitoes that are attracted to the light, and it’s eating REAL good, haha. Once I realized they aren’t trying to suck my blood while I sleep, our relationship improved, lmao.
I used to be scared of heights but 15 years ago my cousin took me skydiving. I'm not going to lie I said IL land with plane f.. k this lol! But she kept calling me a coward and other words too get me pumped I was fired up lol once again I said f.. k it and jumped with my cousin OH YEAH did I say my cousin a girl lol lol 🤣 my Asian warrior that's what I call her lol she don't play games lol u got to love family well im not scared if heights no more I actually got a rush from that sh. t I been skydiving a lot sense then :)!
What scares me now? The idea of bugs eating me from the inside, or digging into my body. Every time I have a night terror, that's usually what I'm freaking out over.
What scared me as a child that doesn't scare me now? Chucky and the Chupacabra. I was so terrified of them as a kid...

Nowadays I can't think of a particular fear that I have besides the obvious ones such as a dangerous animal/insect or suspicious people in isolated places. I used to have fear of driving and fear of my father until early 20s, but thankfully I lost the fear of both
I used to imagine that at night, when I had to get out of bed and walk down the 'long scary' hallway to the bathroom, that either Darth Vader or a Great White Shark was goona come after me. Very logical, the mind of a child...
I'm sure this is not that uncommon, but I remember being afraid of clowns for a brief period of time when I was a kid. I was over it by the time I was 5 or 6.
Now, my current biggest fear is snakes. I've only seen about 3 or 4 of them in all the years that I've lived in the desert, but I still worry that one of them is going to sneak into my house (it's happened before).
I used to be scared of the dark, my father and grandfather and heights... I still don't like heights lol
Yes both used to be violent people, I can't remember my grandfather hitting me tho but I know that I was really scared of him the most
It's okay🙏🏼 it's been years at this point and both thankfully already died lol
Nothing "scares" me. But I do have uneasiness about some things. I don't really like the dark. Nor the laundry room at my mother's house. My sister used to lock me in there with the lights off to punish me whenever she babysat me. I think it's a mild conditioning. It's not a big deal.
I used to be afraid of dolls! I always liked scary movies and I saw them young and playing w/Barbies didn't help! I used to think Chucky was hiding in my closet! 😆
I hope you never watched that movie... Dolly Dearest, lol
The sound of a stray cat at night.
The sound of an aeroplane at night. This was caused because as a preschooler, I went through a war with dogfights taking place in the sky all night.
Watching the original Exorcist.
Reason for stray cats:
In my younger years, there was no air-conditioning so we used to keep windows open. And the windows had a grill but no net. I would sometimes wake up in the midde of the night with a cat walking on the window pane. It would keep me up all night.
I'm not fond of reptiles. Alligators/crocodiles and snakes. My parents, and my little brother went to Arizona into the Grand canyon. They used to have a reptile farm that had alligators. They scared the bejeebies out of me. It has been a long time since that has happened and I still have a fear of reptiles.
As a kid the case of a girl named Elizabeth Smart scared me. The fact some guy just walked into her house and took her. I use to think that could happen at night so I would be so afraid cause my mom watched the lifetime movie about it and that shit scared me. It was around the same time "Shasta and Dylan" were taken & that story was horrific as fuck. I use to be afraid at night I would be kidnapped so I rmbr never really sleeping good for weeks.
Walking at night in empty corridors, stairway and hallways where there was complete silence and you only hear your footsteps. I worknight shift nowadays, its normal for me and even my fav hungout spot if I want to relax.
Cops, I was scared that the police was going to come to my house and arrest my family in the middle of the night. I thought cops would send people to work camps and no one was allowed to talk about it. I was 6 or 7.
I think just the darkness in general would bother me, I would think a monster or someone is there all the time. As an adult I can walk around my place in darkness and not bump into things because I’m kind of used to it now.
The movie “Burnt Offerings” scared the shit outta me when i was very young. After my mother explained what movies were and how they’re made i was no longer afraid. In fact, i luv’d scary movies after that. Still do.
Use to be afraid of the dark now I can't sleep unless it is pitch black
1. Spiders
2. All insects in general
3. Spiders
Family member hurting me. He can't now, he died a few months ago.
Now I'm just afraid of being eaten alive, drowning in the ocean and other such things.
Clowns scare me to death! When I was little I went to the circus and a clown bopped me from behind. I turned around and immediately burst into tears. I have PTSD from it! It’s not an easy life either
Fire alarms. They’d scare so me bad during primary school that I had to check with the teacher every morning that we wouldn’t be having a fire drill and if we were then the fear would make me physically ill. No idea why.
Used to be petrified by the dark growing up in the country. That's faded since I've grown up but still remember being scared of not knowing what was out there?
Snakes. Fairly sensibly as Australia has 6 of the top 10 most venomous. Not now as I live in the city. Still careful with long grass if I am in the country.
I'm scared of heights, panic attacks, being alone for the rest of my life, my own I trusive thoughts at times and also children.
Yeah didn't realise till I spent a year working at a primary school. That's where my lunch time supervisor shift was and my work ethic meant I ended up with 4 if them as well as increased length. Wasn't fun.
Snakes scare me now!
approaching girls used to scare me but it’s no thang now 😎
Being trapped in somewhere really confined like pipes you have to crawl through or torture would be pretty scary.
What scared me the most when I was young was jump scares, loud noises and disappointing my loved ones.
Girls lol. Then i figured out ‘hey what if I actually pay attention to what they like and stuff’ then i got over it :p
now its just bees… and wasps… and hornets… yyeah flying insects lol
Evil dead 2013
I don't know why this movie is so scary
No matter how many times i rewatch this it still scares the shit out of me ! 😂
yea by the way whats your fav horro movie? 😀
I’ve had family members abducted. That scared me as a kid.
i fear for my own kid’s safety now.
Of Count Dracula I don’t think I’m afraid anymore unless he came to life then would have a problem because he turns into a bat then trys to put a spell on you and bite your neck
I'm not easily scared. I guess randomly aggressive people coming at me when I'm listening to my headphones. Jump scares can get me sometimes lol.
To meet was the unknown, things like glowing eyes in the dark, and where I live large bobcats that would occasionally jump through windows.
Stupid people are scary. There's strength in numbers and those fuckers are everywhere
standing up for myself. it makes me nervous, but i'm not scared anymore about it
-the dark
-cyclops
-pennywise
-dying
I'm not afraid of the dark as much as I used to. My fear of heights still persists. I can't look down from a high place if I don't have a barrier in front of me.
My ability to feel fear is dying by the day but I’m still afraid of talking to people directly
Lightening scares me. Unfortunately up to now.
I am afraid of heights. When I was younger heights never bothered me.
Bitch black dark and silence used to scare me but not anymore.
Bathing with my eyes closed. I always feared a monster would jump me from behind while I had soap over my eyes. So I always hurry to wash the soap off
When I was little I was afraid a Kaiju would attack. Once I learned about the square–cube law (fifth grade) that fear disappeared.
That when eating fruits that look like eggs an alien would grow inside me and burst out of my chest later, like in the movie
what was under the bed lol i remember being scared to get up to go to the bathroom at night cuz i thought something was going to grab my ankle and pull me under 🤣
Very good question. Not too sure. I always liked scary movies since I was 10.
I've never been abnormally scared of much except spiders and cock roaches... and I still hate them both.
I used to run and hide (at 5 years old), whenever Swiper the fox came on TV from Dora the Explorer. Haha. Right now driving, heights, and spiders.
I use to be scared to be by myself when I was younger. I am not any more 😁
I can't figure out what that picture is you took?
huh it looks like Abraham Lincolns silhouette lol
@Still-alive 🤣 you’re right! 🤣
On a tricycle? Was it a kid then who hit you?
@Still-alive no a grown ass man
Weird. What was he doing riding a tricycle?
Anyways glad you’re ok now. Definitely left an impression on you
Ok i know what you mean. I've seem them

@Still-alive yes but bigger than these. The one that hit me. It had a back seat 💺 😂
I used to be terrified of the dark. Now it comforts me.
