Would you be mad if your kid thought one of your friends was the wrong gender?

I tried correcting her a hundred times but she's 2, and she still refers to me as a girl. I've given up and just ignore it; I figure she'll learn when she's older.

But her parents still try to correct her, and my friend—her dad—has started getting mad at me about it recently. I already stopped wearing anything remotely "girly" when I visit them. The only other thing I could do is cut my hair short or grow out patchy facial hair, neither of which I'm doing for a 2 year old.

I don't understand why he's mad at me, but I don't want to make it a big deal, so I'm not going to bring it up. Do you have any idea how to handle this or why he would be reacting this way? Thanks.

It sounds like HE has gender issues. Maybe he's taking his fear out on you that his daughter has gender issues. Maybe your hair IS too long, stereotypically speaking

Probably, but I can't change stereotypes. I guess it would be best to let things lie in that case. If either of them do have issues I don't want to poke it.

Entering an intelligent/informed discussion with a 2 year old is -to me- like teaching a goat to speak.

And the father can't be much older, too :D
