How would you feel if a friend of the opposite gender tried to set you up with one of their siblings?

This happened to me once. I was freshly single, my friends big bro was also freshly single. She knew I liked older guys and we had a few things in common. And never again omg, it was one of my worst dates.

She had rose tinted glasses on her big bro for sure. He was a sweet guy and not too bad on the eyes, but he never let me talk. He just rambled on about stuff. There is so much I could say omg. He was clearly on the spectrum.

Anyway I didn't see him again, which hurt his feelings so my friend got mad at me. We had a falling out. She called me a hoe. Not fun.

My best advice don't let your friends play matchmaker with a sibling.

I know they were the same gender as me, but I'm bi so I don't think gender would make a diffidence

I would assume they really thought we would be a good match. I personally wouldn't date a sibling of a friend, but I am not going to get all mad at them over the suggestion.

Totally depends on whether you fancied the sibling or not, doesn't it?

If you don't fancy the sibling, but the sibling fancies you, that puts you in a difficult position: how to retain your friendship whilst extricating yourself from a delicate 'situation'?

If you do, you still need to be sure that you make the correct choices between the siblings depending on how the initial attraction progresses...
