OH MY GOD, NO! What kind of monster would ever “joke” about their husband, and their child’s father dying, TO THEIR CHILD? To answer the question: no, I never heard my mom say that, though she did say a lot of mean things and good things. She was married three times and stayed in her last marriage for her children.

She was steadily making it to be on her own (way before the marriages and kids), she was a hustler in N. Y., but the reason she even got involved in family life was because of loneliness and looks.

No. Who would ever joke about someone dying. Sure my mom got angry at him and frustrated but she never wished death on him. The only time we discussed his death was when he was actually dying. And we were discussing focusing more on quality over quantity because we understood with how advanced the cancer was that he would not survive; and we didn’t want to prolong his suffering.
