No youth is superficial. People just miss looking and feeling good, physically. It might be romanticized by the media, but it's not better in any other way. You’re less mature and make bad decisions, and are more a slave to hormones. I hated being a kid because I wanted to be autonomous and not have anyone drag me places or tell me what to do. I always wanted to be an adult and on my own and I’m much happier as an adult.

So I guess you could say in a roundabout way youth is important. But I wouldn't put it that way. To quote Baz Luhrman "You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until it has failed you". Instead of would say it is important to understand the value of time and be present in every moment you're in. Because it's those moments that really matter, not even the time. I'm happier now then I ever was in my youth. And my youth was pretty good. Never look back or you're going to miss what's right in front of you. Enjoy the present, savor it, and make it memorable.

I don't see what about being young is so great though, most young people make a ton of mistakes, are financially struggling.

It's a lovely sentiment but not everyone has had a good childhood.
The only way I would be excited to relive mine is that my parents would be 5 times as rich as they were during the original run.
