Mmm kind of? I can't lie, I don't remember much up until maybe like 14 but before that I mostly just remember playing with my sister. But my mum's always been the one to be around the house as my dad used to come home from work after I went to bed and before I woke up except on Sundays I think, so he wasn't THAT present. He never came to our schools minus picking us up sometimes plus a bunch of other things, and is definitely more invested in my brother who plays sports. My family always disciplined through hitting/shouting and he did that, it was mostly my mum because she was obviously at home more and so spent more time with us but my dad was always seen as the main authority figure. It's changed a bit now because we don't really ask his permission for things now we're older, he's still that scary authority figure but not really at the same time, I can't really explain it. I love him and we have a good relationship but he's not on the level as my mum for all my siblings. He's definitely masculine and a strong influence but his absence probably had more of an influence on my childhood

Right now, I'm writing a book (or memoir) on my father. he was a pretty scary figure in my life and in my siblings lives. So I would say that he was a strong influence, but in a negative way.

Yes, he was. A true gentleman.

He served in the military even though he didn't have to (before I was born), he worked with my mother (who, by the way, had a physics degree and flew in test flights of military jets in the 1950s) to provide everything we needed as a family, food, shelter, a loving environment, a wonderful childhood. I miss them, and wish they were still around.

Yes, he was a WW2 vet and a hard worker. He never got past the 9th grade but he valued education. He wasn't one of these sports obsessed guys and only hit me once. He was not perfect but he was better than most I imagine.

Hmmm... No.. I lost my dad when I was a little kid because he was a selfish prick who had me in his 50s... We weren't close and he never cared about anything... Never said love you son, how is school, sometimes he didn't even care when I was really sick... Nowadays when I spend some time with my little nephews and I " dad " them around for a while and teach them some stuff and I see how happy they are... It hurts man.. It hurts a lot..
