Why would my friend not really talk much or express herself when we hang out together?

well, pretend you're her. why would you not really talk to your friend much or show much expression while hanging out with your friend? she could also be depressed or having a hard time. i really feel like it's the second option. depression sucks. maybe try doing something nice for her like surprising her with her favorite food. and if she still acts the same, something may be up with the friendship, not sure.

She’s been this way ever since we started being friends so it’s not new. I know she seems kinda out of it sometimes and has a lot of things going on with work - she’s a high achiever.
