Pet owners, do you talk to your pets like they are your children?

No, just like they're a dog or whatever animal they are. I treat them kindly and with respect but, maybe as something with a slightly lower intellect. I talk to them as a good friend but, since I know that dogs get excited when you wanna take them for a walk, I might feign their own excitement when I suggest walking to them.

No. I’ve long trained federally protected working dogs. Most of my own pet dogs (and my cats have a fair anount) have about 300 known commands/signals.

If I ever have one, I'll definitely talk to mine like it's my baby even if my baby grows way too big and tall that I won't be able to hold it back anymore if it tries to run or be naughty, lol. It will always be my baby! 🤣
