I am probably a little extra me and I gave him extra love ❤️
I have wet food dry food, and sometimes I do feel guilty. When buy myself some thing I will buy him some thing and have a water fountain has a whole little play area and other beds and stuff around the house. He has free range. He does have porch time or window time. My bedroom is not totally off-limits but off-limits only because I have allergies. I have found an animal hospital ER. Hey used to have insurance
How accommodating are you to your Pet Family member?
We took good care of our cats. We took them to the vets for checkups and when they were sick. We got them the better cat food and they basically had the run of the house. We got them little beds. They really had no squawks.
Wow. I've got one for you. My mom found a cat near their driveway laying in the ditch. For a few days, a week, she brought her food and water. She was afraid to move her much as she'd probably been bumped by a car. Then, when she was moving around with a harsh limp, the mother carried her to home. She had that cat for 17 years. I watched 'Baby', mom called her, played with my pit bull Tina, caught scurrile to play with, then let them go and chase two big dogs out of the yard. She disappeared 3 days after mom passed even though my sister and her kids and a grandkid , myself, had been living there for years caring for mom. I had often had the thought when one goes I feel the other one will, too.
@exitseven do they not like affection 🤣? Yes I was I was giving him rubs, he rolled over like he liked it, then grabbed my hand with his teeth. Then he hopped on my lap out of the blue, rubbed against me, I gave him kisses he seemed like he liked it then slapped me and ran
No. If the cost of medical care exceeds what my wife thinks is reasonable (because it was her cat first) based on the cat's age then the cat will be sent to the happy cat barn in the sky. We did spend a lot on it for some surgery once.
Would you give them a room?
No. A room is worth a lot and a cat is not a human child. We don't have a college fund for the cat. We aren't going to buy the cat a car or buy it a wardrobe of clothing.

Cat is free to hang out wherever in the house and has several favorite spots.
When you buy something new for yourself do you buy them something new as well?
Nope. I do get the cat something on some top holidays but this is 90% so my wife feels that I believe the cat is part of the family & 10% for the cat. After all the cat doesn't really comprehend holidays.

Wife does.

Of course. Sometimes I do, sometimes the wife but we will meet at the vet.

In the sense that I bought an extra pet carrier to keep in the house for if there's an emergency need to exit the home. The other carrier is in the garage.

Sometimes a sitter. Sometimes a checker. Sometimes a hotel. Yeah. What else can you do?
In other words, are you extra with your pets?
Extra to me would mean putting it in a baby carriage, paying for it to get a college degree, putting sweaters on it... or making life all about the cat.

I respect that it has learned to respect me 100% and follow all verbal commands without hesitation because that's how I roll with animals. I told the cat it was going to be a dog and it barked. I'm not a push over like most of you cat people.
We have one cat right now. He's a four year old, super fluffy, marmalade-orange, 19 lb, part Maine coon named POTUS (Poatie).

Do you only take them to the vet when it’s emergency? Of course. But we haven't had to. We keep him indoors.

In other words, are you extra with your pets? Yes. We give him the wet food he likes and feed him his favorite kibbles when he asks. We make sure he has water. We clean his cat box twice a day. He has a cat tree. He snuggles with my wife in her chair. We pet him and play with him. He loves to be brushed. We talk to him and he talks back with funny, high-pitched Mews.

Our pet dog is like our kid. We take excellent care of her.
In addition to her kennel, where she sometimes likes to go and lie down, it's her private safe place, she has two beds, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. She goes to the vet regularly, has pretty much the run of the house, and eats better than we do. No processed foods for her.
When we travel, we take her to a farm, where she is very well-taken care of, not locked in a kennel all day. There's a fenced area for her to run around in and play, with horses and ducks nearby. The owner sometimes takes her to the store with her.
As I write this, she is curled up at my feet, taking a nap.
snake and gecko. we put money aside each month instead. vets only if i'm worried as they've had a health check when we first got them and keep an eye on them. buy them bits as and when they need it. both in the living room currently. never go on holiday but also have a family member who also has them so we can rely on her.
#1 No I don't have insurance, My cats rarely get sick, since I've fed them meat that I cook. If I see that they aren't well, I take them directly to the vet, but as I said, it's rare

My last cat were killed by one of the neighbors, I found her head cut off of her body. I was so sad and til now, I decided to not buy another cat, I just can't 😔
I have two cats, as they are cats you don’t really have a choice they get everywhere. Saying that they do tend to gravitate to certain areas depending on weather or time of year.
