Is it possible to make a dog favour you over other family members?

At the moment it favours a family member that had been it's caregiver since the dog was 0-4 months.

It’s going to take time to bond with the dog. Spend some time playing, grooming and teaching tricks with the dog. Establish a good routine: grooming, training, meals, bed, walks, enrichment/entertainment (lick mats, snuffle mats, kongs), etc.. Go for outings such as the beach, a hike or a cafe. You can even go to obedience training classes, which are great for teaching your dog how to behave and how to interact with other dogs and people.

The more time you spend giving your dog a happy, fun, fulfilled life, the more it will bond with you.

I would say so. My dogs loved the whole family but I've never seen them buddy up to anyone else the way they did to me! If I was sitting on the front steps and someone let the dog out with me, she'd run straight for me, stick her nose under my right arm and shove her entire head through so my arm was draped over her shoulder, then she'd plop her ass down RIGHT beside mine and lean into me!! I wish women would do that! Even my ex-fiance's 3 dogs loved me to death!! They just KNOW that I'm someone they can have a great time with and can trust.

Interact with it more. My dog is extremely dependent on me. I walk her twice a day, feed her after the walks, and let her sleep in my bed. If I'm not there, she gets nervous.

Give it time, pets often act different when they are moved to new locations. Cat's will hide under beds for a few days.
