Would it make a difference which one?
My dad is actually trans. He went trans about 3 years ago. At first he was just cross dressing. Then he grew his hair out and got fake eye lashes. After that he started taking female hormones to make his body thinner. At that same time I ended up moving to a different state. The last time I saw him before moving, he didn't wear makeup and his face was completely recognizable. About 6 months after I moved, he told me via text to start calling him mom. That was the moment I began to struggle severely with him being trans. I felt like if he was mom, I no longer had a dad. 1 month later, he texted me a picture of himself. He looked scary and much different from when I had last see him, before I moved. He no longer looked my dad. It made me feel like my dad was no longer alive. It felt like he had died and someone else was now living in his body. Once I saw the picture of him, I knew I wouldn't be able to handle ever seeing him in a picture or in person again, unless he stopped being a Trans woman. Because seeing him like that just felt like I was seeing someone else in my dads body while my dad was dead. At that point I ended my relationship with him and cut all contact. It's been nearly 1.5 years since I've talked to him.
Shit that does sound scary. Ig a big change like that rlly needs to be gradual for parents. I've seen kids be upset when their dad shaves, can't imagine all of a sudden them looking like a different person, going by a different name. Body snatcher shit if u don't know what's happening. I hope u doing ok since then, or if contact does try again hope something good come of it.
it would affect my relationship a lot.
In bad way u think, or just a big change?
just a big change.
Okay.
I'd wonder how that person could be my parent... maybe a former guy who impregnated my mother and then became a woman?
Well, yes that's a possibility.
It would creep me out that he/she bought in to the stupid movement.
Why would it creep you out if u think they're just dumb?

I’d give them space
I don’t like being around insecure people or ones who change their looks in order to be secure in who they are.
I’d see that as also a reason they would need space to date who they wanted to and try to figure out who they were.
I wouldn’t have a whole lot of admiration for them, other than pity.
Today, I am truly grateful my parents are not part of the lgbtq groups. I love them so much.
I don’t mind friends being that way.
I just- it’s a relief I can have both a mom and a dad, and they are confident in themselves. Exceptional working-class people, as well.
Sorry a bit confuse u say u want them to figure out themselves, but also pity if they figure out they part of lgbt. U don't want them b insecure, but distance if they tell u. Do u mean pity like bc of discrimination or something? Do u mean distance until they figure out, then be friends again? Mix signals, tryn give benefit but unsure. Glad ur parents are in good space either way tho. Very exceptional.
Space as in I wouldn’t spend all my time with them. Not as much as I’d want to. Depending on how overpowering their “new identity” was.
This is just me- I can’t handle a lgbtq parent.
Not something like that close to home.
What other people do is their business.
A lot of lgbtq people are uncomfortable in how they were born- to me that’s insecurity.
Some people surgically adjust their nose?
And some people adjust their genitalia and hormones… they just have a whole demographic for that 🤷♀️
I find it hard to be myself around people with plastic surgery.
I can’t be myself around insecure people- I always cater to their insecurities. Trying to ensure their comfort puts me at discomfort if it’s 24/7.
What I naturally would say would be perfect grounds of offense for lgbtq people if I wasn’t thinking before speaking.
I pity them. I feel like they’re living a lie but they’ll say otherwise
It’s okay if I pity them. They don’t pity themselves?
With lgbtq people who aren’t so extreme and looking for attention or just bitchy people looking for excuse- I can tolerate.
I just see that as a person with their own fetish. That’s none of my business.
I’d never want to see my parents with another female
Or another male
Not even an affair.
My parents were religious and though imperfect they don’t represent the whole Christian community
And I see them as saints.
They never hurt anybody and deserve the best.
To see them insecure or changing themselves
Adjusting their appearance
“Behaving” a certain way
Or wearing their fetish on their clothes
Would just make me feel bad-
I’m entitled.
You’re calling me a mixed person
You don’t think lgbtq people are mixed?
It’s a mixed situation
It’s not all good
I won’t say it’s not all terrible
I’ll just say it is what it is.
I think it’s unfortunate but it is what it is
- for my parents? I’m simply glad and relieved
Look you can be lgbtq I don’t have to endorse your sexual life and my parents don’t have to be that-
I was pretty much asexual as a kid anyways so this stuff isn’t shxt to me.
If you want to feel good feel good- what gets you off gets you off. No special treatments to anyone.
I don’t say yes yes! To everyone when they tell about their sexual life
It’s like- okay?
Go do it then?
It’s none of my business and I’d like to not hear about it.
If they’re discussing it I’ll just leave- I’m not a murderer or bully over this- I just don’t like it
Ok. thanks for explain 🤙
Probably wouldn’t talk to them because the trans people that I have met have tried to shove their woke ideas down my throat.
I would tell my parent you are dumb... I would still talk to them but wouldn't go out in public with them. But with my parents that would never happen, so I'm good lol
It would probably be better than what I have now.
I hope it does get better anyway
My father died in 2007 and my mother is a 91 year old Southern Baptist. It would be really weird!
Would it effect your relationship a lot?
I'm not sure, mom died almost 30 years ago, dad has gone missing for the last 20 years. So they are both out of the picture
Would it make a difference which one?
Probably Not
Cut them off
You would cut both off? Or just the trans one?
Okay, yeah I've heard of that.
I’d disown them
It doesn't matter
