Well, legally, she's well past the due date and is considered "Common Law".
As long you don't irritate her, or pet another pussy (sorry had to throw that in) she won't leave you and take half the cat food, half the treats, half the rug, and all of the cat bed.
However, this is not foreseeable at her age and she seems pretty comfortable with the living conditions, so I think your probably okay.
LOL... yup!
Yes, you should. I just lost my Oliver after 18 1/2 years from Cancer.
I adopted him as a tiny kitten@ 8 weeks old and he was a rescue kitten with my VET's wife. We fed him with a baby bottle or rather my SO did while I was at work and later on. I was treating him for kidney failure, and pancreatitis, for about a year, and then we found he had cancer. The vet did an autopsy after we had him euthanized, and she said he had a tumor on his liver, that was bigger than his liver and it had metastasized to his stomach. It was a terrible loss for me and even my vet cried as she had tended him for a year.
No. It will ruin your relationship. Kinda like when a couple date for 20 years and get married and divorce in 6 months. Don't ruin what's going on.
Also kinda too late bro. She's already your boss.
I love how many people are fangirling over your kitten haha. I'm now a fan of her too! She looks adorable. ❤
Kitten? At 16 years old?
@DubiousIntentions I didn't read the question properly, but thanks for pointing out that she's 16. Well, looks like she's a cat!

Oh my... She's so freaking cuteeeeeeee, Froggy! 😍 You better adopt her before I steal her, lol.
She's seriously beautiful and she's been living with you for so long... She's already a part of your family. Make it official if you want to 😇
She's such a cutie! She's already been living there for so long, I'm confused at what would change by adopting her?
Is there any advantage to getting them? You haven't had them all along so I don't see why it would matter really
You cat is around 80 years old in cat years. After being there 16.5 years, it is grandfathered/mothered in, so needs no adoption. It figures it is there to the end. It is probably at the end of it's life, so be good to kitty.
What a nice kitty! Yes, you should adopt him.
Hmmmm your question makes me wonder if I should adopt every welfare recipients. I worked for 25 plus years and I'm taxed for many reasons. One reason is welfare recipients. But some how I can't claim them in my taxes.
she adopted you already. good old kitty. kitties are some of the best people we have.
She’s adopted you a long time ago. You obviously thought you had a choice 🐈⬛
With as long as she's been living in your house with you It would make sense to.
From her perspective you did so a long time ago.
sounds very much like. difference between
partnership and marriage lol
The cat walks by himself. All places are alike to him.
Where do you live? I didn't know that any jurisdiction had a process for the legal adoption of an animal.
IN your state, you can legally adopt a cat?
If your cat has already lived n your house for 16+ years, then you "adopted" her a long time ago.
what a blessing...
yes, so you can keep the house
What do you mean "adopt" her? Whose cat is it anyway?
I understand. Well as another viewer said I think she adopted you already.
i didn't know you had a girlfriend
She's the one who adopted you, lmao.
You should’ve done that from day one
She has already adopted you!
No, you two are still in the "talking" phase.
Awwww
