Nowadays If you lose both parents
But back in old days you were considered an orphan if you lost your father and women would marry because their kids were orphan no men to feed them etc

Not in the middle east. If you lose one parent in middle east countries they count you as an orphan.

That might be because women don’t usually work in the Middle East so if you lose your dad, you don’t have money for food and if you lose your mom, your dad might marry another women and kick you out of the home.
