How does it affect a son or a daughter being abandoned by their parents as an adult?

We hear a lot about the affect of a child being abandoned by their parents as a child. But we never discuss the affect of being abandoned as an adult. Like your father refuse taking your calls. You might not meet your parents for many months even though you are trying. Or your mother refuses to meet you or be visited by you. I found that it did affect me so much. Feeling rejected by a loved one is no easy at all. P. S the parent is refusing to hang out with their child because they are too busy spending time at resorts and dont want their child to know. Or they dont want to be seen by an adult child and look old

I think i was not clear with my question so i will clarify
-i am talking here about an adult person reaching out to their old parent and worrying about them but the parent doesn't respond
-what do you think are the effects of having this kind of relationship with your parents on you, their grandchildren... Etc

i think when you experience a trauma like that then you probably got others too, so it's hard to pinpoint what EXACTLY it did to you bc it was probably other shit too

ik for me it did add to the empty and void feeling inside. someone can react differently to that shit and try to fill it with something. i could not tell you what that is for me lol

I can only say that as an adult you take from it and don't pass it on. Love your kids. Make sure they know you'll always be there for them. And encourage them to do the same.
Humans learn. Humans can change themselves. We can't change others. That includes our parents. They can make their choices and we can make ours.

I am not asking here for an advice how to deal with it. or what i should do about it. I am asking how does it affect the son or the daughter. what are the psychological effects of this kind of abandonment.
