The answer depends on why the parent is unable to afford food for the child. Are they disabled or handicapped in some way? Temporarily injured? Drug addicted or alcoholic? Are they unable to feed their child despite making diligent efforts, or are they just living a life of thievery and usnig the child as a moral justification? If they are making an effort, then they should get food stamps or assistance from a local food bank.

Never knew someone in that situation. I'm sure that a mother with children could find an alternative to stealing to feed her children. There are agencies that can help, both city and county.

If its both parents, no. there should be some kind of support.. If on the other hand its a single parent, who actively alienates the other parent, then custody of the child should be given to the parent who is not struggling.

No I don't think that's the case at all.
I believe they're doing the right thing to provide for their children and I'm sure if they were in a different position they wouldn't be doing it
