Parent check before they having a baby?

Do you think (future) parent should have passed pychosocial test before parenting? If you do, should children of those who don't pass test should be instantly taken and adopted from the other couple?

I believe that children need to have good parents because if their parents are abusive, the likelihood of mental health problems are much more likely to happen down the road. In fact, I bet it’s more likely than not.


Why is it that to carry a gun, you need a license, to drive a car you need a license, and to even get married you need a license…


Yet, raising a child requires no license?


Good parenting is a must. Because bad parenting creates a huge ripple effect of societal problems and puts the child at a huge risk of mental health issues.


I believe you’d need to have more than a simple psyche evaluation to determine good parents. It’s super thorough and includes things like ethics and parenting skill assessments too.


At the very least, parents should need to take a parenting class, with standards that are set by professional family therapists who specialize in developmental psychology.


Then they can get their license to raise a child. And they’d need to get their license periodically renewed.


Raising kids correctly is an important responsibility. It needs to be done right.

no, we need more kids in this country. We're running out of young people. I think kids need to be coming whether or not their parents meet the standard.

I know very stupid people with degrees in mental health, people with no self respect or respect for others, who deserve to be working in a convicted felon jail cell and not in health care.

Unfortunately, such a measure will be abused. Let's not give the government more authority over us.
