Should guys get a vasectomy in their 20's and get it reversed down the road if they decide they want kids?

Yeah, I know I didn't want to reproduce and when I found out my girlfriend also didn't want to I got one. It took a while to convince my dad to let me (his house, his rules) get one, but since I told him decided to not reproduce >10 years before I had a girlfriend he eventually caved. My mom helped wear him down.

Hell no, that's just dumb. Getting vasectomy costs money, getting a reversal costs money. Rent an apartment with cash and use a fake name, that's free with very little change to your lifestyle.

If you find that you've gone raw while drunk with the wrong women and don't want to take responsibility... then don't, just move to another place under another fake name. It's also patriotic and supporting feminism. Feminism says women can do things as well as men or better, our taxes and economy depends on more children. @Apple1996 Not much actually, more so when I was playing the field I'd rent out places with cash in college towns and furnish them from goodwill. It had so much less to do with worrying about knocking a girl up than drama.
Condoms or no condoms, if you're sleeping with one or more women a week some are going to be at their place, some at yours, and a fair number just won't let it go at casual. Even though, you know, you met at a party, slept together and haven't talked much since then besides maybe sleeping together more.
It's easier to pick up and become someone else in a new town, or simply across town, there is birth control, and just buying plan B to keep in your place. I did that and going to the clinic twice a month when I was playing around. There is one here that is free, gives out free condoms, and started giving me free plan B after they started making me see a counselor there.

I wasn't forcing women to be slutty when they slept with me, it was their choice, as it was my choice to cover my ass while sleeping with a lot of women.

I did and do want to take responsibility with the family I have. There's seriously no issue I see there, any woman willing to have unprotected sex with who is essentially a stranger must be on some form of birth control. Either way I make it a "not me" problem.

The thing is you only have to get caught once and you have a disaster on your hands, and it would not be difficult to find you if someone really wanted to. Did you have license plates on the car you drove? Was it registered to you? Did the owner of the apartment you rented have your real name?

I and go on and on but you get the idea. A vasectomy is cheaper and more reliable than all of this.

@msc545 I agree that it isn't a long term solution. That was when I was younger, and looking to be completely unattached with like-minded individuals who also didn't want attachments.
Some would change their minds, mostly it was to avoid drama, and it isn't anymore expensive than simply renting.
Most places down here take cash and don't look into your rental history or background check anyway. The first place I rented that checked ID was in Vegas for work back in 2019. As far as plates that would be a place to start. It isn't worth it to switch plates to simply trick someone, rather that's something you do with a stolen car to put on a wing and a prayer.

No. Vasectomies are not easily reversible. Success rates go down with the years and the reversal procedures are expensive…

I don’t think those are easily reversed, yet I’m still inclined to say yes. When I crunch the numbers of guys who ended up with unwanted children because they hate wearing condoms, and add to that the number of guys who fell for the: “but I’m on the pill line” I think it would be far better to risk never having children as opposed to having ones they aren’t ready for and don’t want now.

Nope. For one, to get a reversal is not covered by any insurance. You have to pay before the procedure. Depends on who you go to it can be $8k to $25k.
