If IVF means in vitro fertilization, it means they forced a sperm to enter the egg by injecting it with a needle into the egg and than putting the fertilized egg into the uterus.

This works regardless of the amount of sex your parents have/had. Usually its done when becoming pregnant don't work with regular sex. So they give the sperm and egg a little help.

I'm sure they had intercourse, just not to make you. An egg and sperm were mixed in a petri dish, then you were implanted into your mother. Do you know if it was your mother's egg and your father's sperms? Or donors?

The ivf route would mean that your father essentially deposited into a tube that was then mixed with an egg from your mum in a dish and then transferred back into your mother's uterus with about a 40% success rate. For the actual act, your parents did not have intercourse and would actually be asked to refrain from it for a time before and after transfer
