Oh of course I did many many times over and over and usually what I found out was one of the family members that's me according to the BBC which is British broadcasting system my family because they know stuff that goes on before it even happens somehow but there's so many rumors that I learned about myself that I had no clue that I even knew about this type of stuff but according to my family I sure did so instead of trying to prove myself wrong or myself right I would just go along with it and add more stuff to it and get it out to the British broadcasting system as far as I could as fast as I could because I like those rumors that way they never knew who I was and for a long time never knew who I was lol and in some ways they still don't which I like that

My mom being raped as a teenager. She told me when I was a teenager. It explains why she always kind of sheltered me when it came to dating and boys. I wasn't really allowed to date back then and I understand why she didn't allow it because of what she went through.

That my grandma had 9 miscarriages before she had her only child. She adopted my mum and uncle.
That my father, and one of his brothers, had paid to see Zardoz in the theater. If you've seen the movie, you'll know what that's hard to believe. If you haven't... look, here's the poster:
Sean Connery, in his dashing "bandolier and red diaper" combo, running around to fulfill the whims of a giant flying stone head that shouts "The gun is good! The penis is evil!" and then vomits assault rifles.
The director, John Boorman, had just finished Deliverance, and wanted to adapt Lord of the Rings to the big screen, but that fell through, so instead he decided to do all the drugs in the world, and then made Zardoz.
Yeah i always believed my dad that went away when i was 1 years old and didn't remember, was out working in other countries he always sent me weekly postcard and one day when i was 9 years old and did something bad in school my teacher said "your going to end up just like your dad in prison" i ran home to grandma and found out that dad has been in prison and not helping people in other countries it was really hard as a kid.
When dad was having an affair.
When my brother came out as gay and told his wife he was divorcing her -- at my wedding at the reception dinner in a public speech. One of my cousins has 5 kids. Turns out only 1 is his
this actually came from relatives, who finally decided to find out about (some part) of our more direct ancestors and when/where they came from to the USA... while everyone was expecting it would be somewhere in Europe... few or none were expecting Germany of all places... lol
Nope. I knew everything about everyone in my family which meant I knew about my missing cousin and dead relatives and pretty much all of my relatives problems and how all my dead relatives died before I can even remember the first time learning about it. You can imagine the psychological trauma that caused.
The only thing I did not know about my family until I was a teenager was that my grandfather was almost hit by the atomic bomb that hit Hiroshima.
My brother, his future wife, and I all attended college together. She was okay but not marriage material; she was way too much of a daddy's spoiled little girl. But they got married in 1975, and I was best man at the wedding. She developed renal insufficiency and was on dialysis for a few years before she died in the summer of 2022. My brother got remarried 6 weeks after his first wife died.
It was me that shocked my family. When I was 20 years old I went to college in St. Louis and met a beautiful girl that I hit it off with. After her and I had been seeing each other for about 2 months, I told my mom about her. Long story short, we were 3rd cousins! My mother's extended family is HUGE! One of her aunts had 20 kids, another 18. So her cousins are scattered all over the country.
Yes my sister had 7 abortions in highschool I was 8 seeing her look at her belly in the mirror sneak boys over and just never knew till later when she told us and broke down crying when I told her our happy news
Found out that my mom was married once before my dad. Found out that one of my dad's "hookup highlight reel" moments was the time he got drunk and banged a 16 year old Canadian girl on his 30th birthday.
NGL; those two pieces of information kinda made some shit make a lot more sense as I've looked back on the context of things.
There is a relative of mine. I was shocked to see that he could afford a really expensive Bose Bluetooth speaker in his salary. And when I asked him what his salary was, all he said is he is comfortable in buying such things.
That guy graduated from a mediocre college and drastically improved himself so much so that he is in-demand in the market now.
@mandyfire98 found out about one of my cousins was gay, walked in on him and his boyfriend once too
My Mom and a sister of hers were molested by an Uncle when they were kids. I didn't find this out until after my Mom died three years ago.
Yes. Stuff that made me grow up and view them as actual human beings with flaws, but who try their best. Though reaching this conclusion was always like a funny mix of emotions 😂
Yeah. I got two that shocked me.
1.) Dad evidently did coke at one point in college.
2.) One family member was racist but has since recovered.
When my grandparents died my aunt took everything out of their house before the rest of the family could get what was willed to them. We never talked to her again
My great-grandmother's sister killed her husband with a frying pan.
Sorta. It was more shocking and tragic than hard to believe
My cousin got married. He's a bum and nit working and got married to a girl who doesn't work and he didn't even tell his own mom. They met online and got married in Las Vegas.
