Do you have a messy roommate or tenant experience or story?

Here's a spare room I have. This is before I lent it out (free of charge) to a friend and her kids because she was down on her luck. This is what she did to the room... And this is what I did to fix it. After nearly a $100 in cleaning supplies including the price of renting a professional carpet cleaner and a lot of scrubbing on my hands and knees... The results... I'm exhausted. I have blisters between my index fingers and thumbs and carpet burns on my knees from scrubbing and scraping junk off the floor. I'm very annoyed with her. We got into a disagreement today. She didn't like that I reprimanded her. (she borrowed my car late at night supposedly to go down the street momentarily but instead didn't come back until 9am costing me $50 in Lyft charges and causing me to be late for work) she's claiming she's moving out. I pray she does without causing me any more issues. She told me she packing up and was leaving. Well she left alright... she's been gone all day but she left her mess her dog and... Her kids here with me to tend to... Ridiculous and irresponsible!

Yes it seems like we all learn the hard way when people take our kindness as weakness or when they take our kindness and in return don't appreciate what is really going on and how far you put yourself out there just to help her and her kids it's sad that it ended that way but in many cases especially mine it's the same thing I end up helping somebody but it ends up costing me money in the long way losing friends because people just don't get it on how far you really extended yourself just so she could have a roof over her head someplace to cook for her kids for her kids to sleep maybe one of these days she'll look back at it and apologize and reimburse you

She's definitely not a friend and is also not down on her luck just completely immature. Irresponsible and lazy. Her actions or lack of actions and immature irresponsibility has put in this situation. Get rid of her asap and don't ever let her back in your home. She should never be allowed to drive your car as she may cause an accident that could have jou paying for damages xnd higher insurance fees for years to come not to mention car repairs of replacement.

Get her out of there. She's a user. Find a homeless shelter and call them. Then leave all her junk in bags outside and give her a short timeframe to pick up her children before calling social services.

No. But this really pisses me off. People who feel entitled and take peoples kindness and act like this just pisses me plumb off.

She doesn’t have a right to come and trash your house. Being nice doesn’t mean that you have to allow someone to walk all over you.

I can go by what ladies tell me If I want to befriend them or not. I was talking to this one lady on the access van that was bringing me home from an appointment, and she asked me all kind of questions, and she talked really loud. She was living with her mom and had a little girl. I just thought to myself no way am I giving her my phone number to shady, and I'm not judging anyone here, it's what my heart tells me. But that is shame what your roommate did to you, sorry.

You set your boundaries, hide your keys and everything that isn't hers, you should demand she has to ask for permission, and with your restrictions, all in getting here tho is that you are a very good friend.

Yup. Had a few roomies a while back that were just complete losers, left garbage and general disaster everywhere.
Buddy I’m living with now is a great guy, means well but I’m fairly c retain he was raised by wild animals. Cleaning and just basic adulting isn’t really in his realm of understanding

There is a saying here, done a manger a un cochon et il va chier sur ton perron. You made the mistake of letting her in. She has kids, a dog and they have to stay in that small room. Good luck. Hopefully she really will leave. Then again, you can always call the cops.

No but I had a girlfriend that was a complete slob. She never put her laundry away, she just left the pile on her bed and poked through it. She had a dog and the dog was not housebroken. She would never clean up after the dog.

I was renting a room from a couple over their garage. I had a lot of sex with their two teenage daughters and a few times with the wife. Was a rare situation because one time the wife came up while I was doing it with her daughter and I had to hide her daughter in the closet while I had sex with her mom. The daughter was grossed out after her mom left and went away but later her younger sister came up.

Weird stains huh? I came back from a week trip and I roomed with this boy who is about my age and he’s a teammate. I was worried what he would be like but he was wonderful and fun and not messy. He even put the toilet seat up to pee haha
